STANBIC PETROLEUM LTD — Visa fees

I have received a mail from Stanbic Petroleum pvt ltd regarding offer letter & now they are asking for visa fees.Kindly advise whether it is genuine or not the address mentioned in offer letter is 28,asaba close, garki abuja, nigerea
Hi! I received the same offer letter from this company. I'm doubting if this is real as they are giving an extremely high salary, which is unusual if compared to my credentials..keep posting man and keep me updated..

i'm planning to call the Nigerian embassy to confirm if such company exist and if there are reported cases against the STANBIC company. Also, from the offer letter, they have stated a place where you will be assigned. For example, FCT (Federal Capital Territory)Abuja, Nigeria. I went and look for the website and saw a number there of the Head office of engineering from their local government. This is the number in case you also want to inquire[protected].

Hope to hear updates from you.

I also got offer letter from Stanbic Petroleum Ltd, Nigeria offering me unbelievable salary

It must be fake and I have neglected.
This is a fake company, the reason is that the sender of the email is not even authentic çoz he/she is using gmail messaging service. It is fake guys, its a trap for $850/- and nothing else. If an overseas company hires you then they are not gonna send the offer letter directly without conducting various rounds of interviews at your country of residence. And also one thing is for sure as I worked most of my life outside India is that overseas company will never charge you for visa fees, they even send you free one way ticket if they hired you. So Stanbic petroleum ltd. offer is nothing more than a spam. Beware guys.
Even, I have got offer from this company. Two days back got an email asking, whether have I completed my immigration process. Not sure, what to do? I have called the Nigerian embassy in New Delhi also but no reply and they have given an email id to send the details. I did but the embassy email id is bouncing back.

I also got the same offer letter from Stanbic petroleum with unexpected salary. Feel it must b
e fake as no overseas company will ask to pay us for the visa charges and moreover no company will select you without conducting personal interview.

So Guys beware, we must intimate this type of complaints to the original company if such a company really exists,

Hi, I have a suggestion from the UK deputy high commission office. Please read. And follow it for any wk company and check thoroughly. And the same is applicable for all job offering company(s) to check the authenticity.

The mail address o[censored]K deputy high commission kolkata is "Infouk.[protected]@vfshelpline.com". If you have any doubt you should check in here. :-)

Thae mail from UK deputy high commission office is as follows...But the 'xxxxx' is used by me is for not to disclose the names...

Dear xxxxxx,

Thank you for contacting VFS UK Visa Helpdesk.

We understand your concern however, we would like to keep you inform VFS assists UK Border Agency at the British High Commission and Deputy High Commissions here in India providing services to help people apply for UK visas, we may not be able to authenticate/validate the details below

How to find out if a UK company is genuine:

Some job scams can be very clever. Check the company's details very carefully.

Genuine UK company websites may be provided, but the contact email addresses may be false. A genuine company name may be given, but the address will be wrong. For example: genuine website - www.ukvisas.gov.uk. False contact details - [protected]@hotmail.co.uk

• Genuine UK companies are officially registered and can be checked by logging on to www.companieshouse.gov.uk
• Phone the company in the UK if you are approached about a UK job
• Genuine UK companies do not give a mobile number for contact details. Request a landline number
• UK company addresses can be checked by logging on to: www.upmystreet.com.uk
• Most genuine UK companies do not use a hotmail or yahoo type email account.

Job offers from the UK Government:

• The UK Government, including UK Trade and Investment, does not send unsolicited emails with job offers - either direct or through agents. Government vacancies are advertised on official websites in the UK: www.careers-civilservice.gov.uk or in India on the British High Commission's website: http://ukinindia.fco.gov.uk.

• Some job scams falsely use the names and job titles of genuine High Commission staff. A genuine email from an official member of staff will always be sent from our official email address - @fco.gov.uk. It will never be sent from a hotmail or yahoo type email account.

Research UK jobs and terms and conditions of employment:

Think about:

• The credibility of the job offer you have received.
Are the salary and benefits offered realistic? For example, for jobs in the hospitality sector, a monthly salary of £4, 000 plus benefits of free car, free health insurance, free accommodation, free flights for you and your family, plus generous leave entitlements etc are simply not credible.
• The recruitment procedure.
Genuine UK companies normally have a rigorous recruitment procedure, including a face-to-face interview. They would not usually offer a job by email;
• How you were contacted by the UK company.
For example, if you met an employee in an internet chat room who then made you a job offer, this is very likely to be a scam.

Visa fees:

• Current visa fees are published on the VFS website: www.vfs-uk.co.in
• Visa application forms are free of charge. Information and guidance on application procedures are published on www.vfs-uk.co.in; www.ukvisas.gov.uk and www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk
• British High Commission staff do not ask you for payment of fees directly. Visa fees are paid at VFS visa application centres where all applications are made. There are no "additional visa fees"
• The UK Government does not provide or charge for "additional services" such as travel insurance, health screening checks, police checks, security checks etc.

Lottery scams:

• All genuine UK lotteries are registered and have websites
• If you did not buy a ticket, you cannot win a lottery
• UK lotteries do not email winners or refer to amounts won
• Further advice on lottery-related frauds is available from the Gambling Commission: log on to www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk.

Hi,

Ohh man i just fund that the comoany mentioned are totally rubbish...

STANBIC COMPANY LTD -- is dissolved in 23/01/2009. I think they r using this company's name as STANBIC PETROLEUM INTERNATIONAL LTD.

LEVS.CO.UK LTD -- is also dissolved. I think they are using this company's name as Levs Recruitment Agency.

World Falcon Immigration Express not found. But FALCON IMPEX (UK) LTD is found but it is also dissolved. I think they are using this name too.

Searched at "www.companieshouse.gov.uk//index.shtml" then go to "WEB CHECK" :-)

STANBIC PETROLEUM LTD aberdeen is not found in the Google map also.

So be careful...
Dear Freinds,
Stanbic Petroleum Ltd "Offer for the job" is 101% fraud because I am one of the one who had been cheated by them. I paid all the amounts of fees for Visa $850/-, Clearification Certificate $2000/- & $2600/-for bank a/c opening on a/c of reimbursement of three months advance salaries and traveling expenses etc.
So beware of such cheaters and do not send any single dollers. I have all the hard copies of the mail correspondence for the same process with Mr.Herry of BEKEE M.N.Associates & Mr Johnson of Stanbic Petroleum Ltd.
After completing all the job process ( Payment, A/c opening etc ) I am not getting any reply from the both ( Company & the agent BEKEE ). I use to have telephonic discussion with Mr.Jhonson ( Stanbic Sr Manager H.R ) but after getting all the amount even he is not responding to my calls.
If any one of the reader do not beleive my words you can contact me on my Mobile No: +[protected]. or write to me in my Id : [protected]@yahoo.com
So now I am trying to approach through legal way to pull them behind the bars.
but I wish to inform you all not to be garbed in this.
From: Indra Shekhar.
I asked ta an UK embassy visa affair personel. He/She simply told me not to give any money to anybody for cases such like this...

now its up to you...
I got the offer from STANBIC and got confirmationtion form their website. I got call from HR 2-3 times and discussed for half an hour and told all the fraudlent logged.

I would like to know either it is genuine or fraud.
