Tata Photon Plus — Sending Bills despite of cancellation requests

Greetings,

I have received a Tata Photon device and connection as part of an offer when I purchased a Toshiba Laptop from Oxygen IT shop at Cochin a couple of months before. Those people on the shop arranged everything and enabled this connection for me with out any additional costs or charges. But I couldn’t use this device well with my Laptop as the connection was too slow in my location. I have paid for a one month bill which I received online and informed them I am no longer using this device as the net connection is slow for me. 3 days before I got shocked to see a legal notice from an Advocate of Tata Teleservices demanding to pay all the pending due or they will be proceeding with legal actions. I cant understand why should I have to pay for a service which I am not using. I never expect such a kind of action from a Company like Tata.

Same issue with me. I actually paid for 6 months in advance (I was offered a free modem) and I quit after a month since the service wasn't good enough. I requested for a refund and was informed that I had to write a cancellation letter, which I did. After like 3-4 weeks, my balance (for 5 months) was refunded. The modem was also collected from me.

So, imagine my surprise when Tata staff started harassing me with phone calls asking me to pay my balance of rs2048. How could I have a balance to pay in such circumstances? How could I pay a balance for a modem I had returned with a cancellation letter given like a month before and a due refund made back to me? Isn't it obvious that it's an internal issue within their own staff network? Most annoying is that I would explain everything to whosoever called me from their office patiently, and then the person would call me again for the same issue the next day. Without exaggerating, I must have received such calls more that 30 times. Couldn't they have actually taken time to investigate the issue just once?

The worst part of it is that they are now threatening me through a Legal Department. I will NOT pay an amount I don't owe. And they should stop trying to intimidate me with legal palaver. It's pathetic and ridiculous.
