[Resolved]  University Of Petroleum & Energy Studies — mental harrasment of students

Bhai logo in nut and shell if you are careless guys wating for loosing your money and time you can get admission and taste the UPES salt. I am 100% sure in the end you will come out crying from inside.

The fact is... its not an educational institution.. its a Business organization.. where the only motive is to make money...
Some of the best examples to quote are...
1. Rs. 1000/- for ONE back Exam...
2. In an IMPROVEMENT EXAM, (mind it, .. improvement!!!), even if one gets a lower grade then his previously secured grades, the LATEST grades will be applicable!!!, even if he is failed... what d [censored]
3. In the session[protected], OVER 70 Students of Dehradun campus have fallen and have given an YEAR BACK!!!
They claim in front of companies like Bajaj Auto that in the CGPA given by them 2/4 stands for 60%... and in case of passing the students, it stands for 50%. Thats sick...
4. No one is ready to hear the voice of a student...
5. Even I am a victim of this YEAR BACK cases... and guess what.. I gave the exam... did it pretty well.. i.e. i did the paper of around 80 marks out of 100, and that also I failed to even pass!!! This pisses me off...
I have no where to go... no where to look for help. This university has ruined my career!!! that also they charged over 5 Lakh rupees to do that!!!
This college sucks to the extends... if you want to make and have a gud future... DO NOT TAKE ADMISSION IN THIS COLLEGE!!! NEVER!!!

More over...
The students are never provided with their end semester exam copies after correction ... this makes the idiotic faculty of the college free from all the fears and help them do whatever they want to...
They even fail students to fulfill their personal greiverances and diffrences.. and the student has no one to help them...
There are no Labs as such... jst interchanging names of the labs and makin students attend labs which are not even useful to them... this is how they show their students goin for practicals!!!

This is a real sick college... and if anyone can really do something regarding this.. .please come forward and help us out!!!

Hey, Yuu guys don't study in time and then blaim the university like this. When one can get a 3.6/4 gpa then cant you even get 2/4..
I AGREE for non transparency in End sem exams and the cost of back forms...
And about you guys getting back.. Y the hell didn't you cracked the exams in two other turns given to you after exam...????
YOu guys have been so SELFISH over all;this...you guys let us to stirke against the college with you all year back students and as soon your motive of one more mercy chance for back exam was achieved..you forgot all other 11 terms put forward to the college. ?? Human nature right? YOu got you rthing..but what avout us, All the terms that would have benefited us weren't accepted and you guys ran away like [censored]ng ediots...because tumahara back ka paper to clg ne allow kar diya na??? ...

I want to do my M.Tech course in process design at UNIVERSITY OF PETROLEUM AND ENERGY STUDIES, DEHRADUN . I am passing out in year 2011 . after reading all comments, i am a bit confused. please help me and tell me the factual status of the college.

1) - Firstly, all those who want to take Admision, to this College, Take it, But only if you are ready to SLOG day and night. This college requires some serious hard work and dedication. Which, unfortunatly many are not able to do.

2 ) - which college in World does not give "Year Back" if you fail in Xams???, , , how can these stupid students blame college for giving "Year Backs" ? ? ? ? if they do not Study???.

3 )- i'm a Proud passout of this college and I feel even better when i hear good things about this College in my Industry, of Ports & Shipping.

Its an humble request to the Students, please do not Defame our UPES, its an great Institute, with some glitches, And please TAKE ADMISION ONLY IF YOU ARE READY TO WORK VERY VERY HARD, other wise opt for any other college, where u can get ample time for your GF, shopping, Vacations, and loads of freee time to spend with ur friends.

This university is career waisting. if you take admission into it you lost your career.
Biggest thing happning into this university is politics.faculies are quality less. upes is hiring faculty by paying them very less they have no quality to teach. faculties are only doing politics here. if they want they can destroy your career by failing or giving such type of grade that will be disaster for you throuht the whole life.

In UPES your quality have no respect no value. This is compltely true in this university you can loose your complete career even your life too.
Once you take admission into this university. no campany will be ready to give you jobs. there coareses are not effective.
This is humble request to never come in this university otherwise you have to take the decession for suiside.

The Student is Sh Bhupesh Gaira, BBA student[protected] batch.The student met with an accident six months back and i took him for treatment.I paid him sum of Rs 5000 and in return he promised to pay back the money.He gave his mobile number and address .Initially when i used to call he told he is in training and will be back in september and after returning he will pay money.Now when i call him he doesnot respond and had put my number in reject list.It seems i am being punished for helping the needy person.I had messaged him many text but he never responded.
GUYS BEWARE OF BHUPESH GAIRA .HE IS FRAUD

This university sucks they gave me adm. In delhi counselling without checking my marks they are greedy and just want to make money. They charge you about 3 lack a year 20000 for personality development 20000 for industrial visit and when the time comes for placements they provide you a amount off 2 lacks a year which is half we paid a year for studying. .
By the grace of god i am away from this university and i would advice you to never go in this university in you life

It is true the UPES sells fake dreams. In many branches of B. Tech. e.g. Electronics Engineering/Power System Engineering hardly 10- 15 students are placed that too for a nominal salary of 15, 000 / month. They claim 100% placements for these branches. Moreover all the data presented by CEO i.e. Utpal Gosh o[censored]PES is altered. Ground realty is worst in case of this University. Kindly give kind hearing to Dr Raghu Ram Rajan statement (RBI gov) also to avoid these costly universities whose degrees are of no use, you cannot even earn that much so as to clear your student loan and in the end become bank defaulter at younger age.
