We have invested in UTI Mutual Fund in 2006-07. The company did not keep in touch. Cosidering that Mutual Fund investments are not subject of frequent transactions, the company should have kept in touch atleast once in 6 months. Recently on 27 March 2011, I wanted to know the NAV and the status of my investment and telephoned the customer service at Mumbai from Hyderabad. I tried twice and both the occasions the servers were down. I requested them that instead of telling me to try again and again, the company should do that since I had tried twice already. They said such system is not there. Next day on 28th. I spoke over phone[protected] and they could not trace the folio. They kept my phone on hold and made enquiries. Then I was told that now UTI mutual fund is not handling but UTI technological services p ltd is handling and I should contact them.
Two issues:
Why the company did not keep in touch regularly even when there were no transactions. After all, mutual fund transactions are not frequent.
Second, after records were transferred to some other company, including the website, why they did not keep informing the investors, till receipt of response.
Third, why they did not keep a redirect link or message on UTI Mutual Fund website informing that old growth services fund are handled by different company.
Fourth, their servers were down and I had to spend my time and money on STD phones. They do not have any system to call back even when the fault or the non-availability is due to their own reasons. Why make a customer pay in such situations.

I have after concerted efforts, been able to get the track. Still to get the hard copy. POint is they have not touched the general issues-
Why they don't keep in touch atleast once in 6 months and
why they make customers phone again and again when their servers are down or they cannot bring up the folio. Should not they have a system in place so that customers are not put to trouble when there is no fault on their side.
There are other two points as stated in the complaint.
They have evaded answers.
And in the circumstance stated in the complaint should not they reimburse the customer with the out of pocket and time expenses.
As regards folio nos., i think it is better not give that on this open forum. My phone no. is [protected].
I had taken a ulip policy in 1996 from UTI for 15 years. Now since it is the time for the maturity of the policy, when I submitted the form for the redemption o[censored]nits in my folio, they came up saying that my signatures do not match and hence need to be attested from the bank. I got that also and finally submitted the necessary details on 24th Feb at the Jeewan Bharti Building office o[censored]Ti in Connaught Place New Delhi. But till today I am just clueless about what is the status of my request.

Is there anyone who can help me in getting my units redeemed for which I have already submitted the necessary redemption request etc.
