[Resolved]  Verka Milk — Shopkeeper charging more than MRP

Dear Sir/Madam

This is to bring to your kind notice that I am a resident of Gulmarg Avenue, Kotla Road, Jalandhar. This is a case where a common man is being charged price higher than the printed MRP.

A standard Verka half litre milk pack of green label has MRP Rs. 13.50 printed on it. But I have been sold the same for Rs 15/- by a shopkeeper in my locality. I argued with the shopkeeper who instead of bringing down the rate told me that he himself is getting the pack for Rs 14/- each from the concerned agent. Even when the price of the same pack was RS.13/-, the shopkeepers here charged Rs.14/-. Whereas the shopkeepers in the city area charge the print MRP only.

This is sheer violation of our right to have fair pricing policy.

I tried to look into the website of Milkfed Punjab but couldn't see a portal to register my complaint.
Hence, I would like to request you to look into the matter on an urgent basis as milk is a daily necessity. If shopkeepers and/or agents keep on following these tactics, the common man will be robbed of everything as on one hand commodity prices and food inlation has been going up and on the other hand these shopkeepers are charging additional rates.
