Vetri Theatre Chrompet — Selling tickets in black market

sir i visited vetri theatre
a lot of black tickets is being sold there
on the ticket the cost is rs 17
but they r selling it at a rtate of 100 and 120 please take immediate action sirr!!

The worst part is "we got a police station next to it".

I'm also wondering why even they replace the tickets given in counters by a much cheaper tickets while we enter the theatre. Even if i know, not sure who cares for us!!!

Yes i agree with the above comments. For past 25yrs i am living at chromepet. but when i go for movie to Vetri theatre with my friends only on few occation i got the tickes in the counter. Most of the time we tent to by tickets in balck only. even though an hour before we stand in a Q we cant able to get the tickets in counters. only few ticktes issued in counters. after counters will be closed.

they have mentioned as AC but only fan runs inside it. so its better go for sathyam by bokking ticktes in online instead of spending the money to buy ticket in black & with out AC in Vetri AC theatre.

ya its true only sir here lot of black tickets is the person house is near to vettri thetare because he is buying black ticket

Yes its absolutely true. I've been in Chromepet for nearly 25 yrs & I would've watched movies here only on few occassions, but its true that most of the time we could get only black tickets that too only from the theater's own employees. Moreover the ambiance & the maintenance of the theater is worst.
The snacks sold inside the complex costs exhorbitant & tastes worst...

ya the above news is true...it has been happening for more than 3 years...the theatre management itself sells the tickets in black with their employees...no action has been taken till date...in all other theatres the tickets of first 2 rows wil be sold at the rate of RS.10 but in vetri theatre all the rows have the same ticket rate(80 to 100)...proper action should be taken against them..

Balaji : lot of vijay movies i have watched in vetri theatre ... i have been payed minimum 150 per ticket on first day... wat to do paying for thalaivar movie is ok but all movie ticket been sold in black by their staffs

Balaji. also especially on 1st day they allowing more than the seating capacity. we have been paid more amount & watching the whole movie by sitting in the floor...

It is true. I also have the same experience. There the snacks items are also very costly. One coke bottle 200ml is 10rs/- means they are selling at rs.15/-. Not only this item. Lot of items are also like that.
There the staff itself selling the black ticket. Vetri and Rakesh are two theatres in the same complex. The two theaters also having the same problem. Pls take an immediate action.

Its true. Me too faced the problem lot of times. They are forcing us to buy the tickets in BLACK. This is not fare. It seems instead of going to watch the movie in black ticket(eg for 4 friends 4*100 = Rs.400) it is better to watch that in black CD. It will be much cheap...

They have started online booking for Vetri theatre in ticketnew site. And the ticket price is 120. Have they improved the theatre conditions. Why such a huge price for such a theatre?

I am staying in chromepet for the past 21 years.Earlier i use to spent a lot of money to watch a movie.Few months ago i had decided to choose city theaters which are in good condition.I have advised my friends not to choose vetri theater at any cost.I have seen a lady selling tickets in black..tat too difference of at least 70rs from ticket counter.Hope police will take necessary action since theater located near to police station.

yes its true.but who will stop this type of issues.someone(puplic) has to take this issues and do the needful.the government wont take any action for this even we complaint against this they will kick us only.so the government has to rule the thing like there is no more block ticket to sell in the theatre, ticket has to be take from the counter like this...and more ever the theatre workers behavier is not good ...

See, first of all to all of you...at no point does the theatre itself sell balck tickets using their employees...
secondly...u people should not encourage buying such black tickets...it is u ppl who encourage them by buying it from them...tickets are always available at the counter...Online booking of tickets has now been introduced in this theatre...start booking your tickets online...in that case there is not even a % chance for u to buy black tickets!!!
and last of all...please run a theater by yourself n c what are the problems they undergo...then u may pass on such comments...

agreed to all of your comments but everything has been changed now...the theater is undergoing a complete renovation...

I dont think u ppl would comment such things in furture atleast two to three months from now...

Do you think only Vettri theatre is selling the tickets at 100, 120? Every theatre in the mofussil is selling at the same rates or higher. I don't want to mentionn the names of the theatres but that includes theatres in tambaram, ambattur, villivakkam, Kolathur, etc.,

@ Akshay- Yes, the government alloted ticket is Rs.17. Can you just name any one release theatre in Chennai & its outskirts that sells balcony tickets @Rs.17? What is the minimum cost of the government VOLVO A/C Bus? Its not less than Rs.10 for a travel not more than 10minutes. You mean to say a theater should charge you only Rs. 17 for you to sit and watch a 3 hour movie with basic comforts? Why don't you start one?

@ Rajesh kumar - Hats off for your advise. You are free to choose your theatres. Yes you have the best comfort at Sathyam, SO ppl go for it!!!

@ all - i live in tambaram and i'm seeing a lot of renovation happening at the premisis. Like balaG mentioned even I saw the lady selling black tickets outside the theatre. but you know wat, I even saw a guy tear all the tickets sold by the lady and telling people to buy tickets at the counter. I think that guy is part of the management.

You have all the rights to choose your theatres. But i dont think so it is really possible for me to go all the way to sathyam to watch a movie. this is my view. cheers guys.

Understand that Re.17 per head will not work out, but as the theatre is not a multiplex one, why do you charge Re.100 / Re.200 per ticket. is that fair?

we can't stop the people selling black tickets, but you can take some steps to avoid your employees not to sell black tickets right?

Other than that we are happy that you have brought a system for online booking
