Anyway I just left he phone there and it racked up 13 minutes before they hung up on me - What slow PC I have!!!. The the guy called me back about 2 hours later adn I said it wasn't on and left the phone there and racked up 16 mins - I did pick the phone up about 10 mins Ina Nd said it was talking an age to load so maybe he thought he was onto a good thing. Bit of fun at their expense

virtual pc doctor is big scam...especially gerald technical officer is big lier ...in ireland shift..
I was called by Virtual pc doctor on 09/10/10 and stupidly paid them £114 and they wiped everything off my computer then told me I must call in a local technician as I must have pulled a wire out by joggling the tower, I refused as I said I was not even in the room, they then reinstalled windows xp but lost all my documents and important photos, they said they could retrieve them and worked on my machine for 19hours and achieved nothing, I asked for a refund as all they had done was wiped everything off and lost all my stuff and they said this was not possible as they had worked on it and installed an anti virus. The next day I got a virus where someone was trying to get my credit card details, I immediately took my PC to the local shop and they removed the virus and told me there was no anti virus installed, the shop then installed one and all this cost me another £55. I am a pensioner and can ill afford this but must put it down to experience and never trust anybody again. Its a shame something cannot be done to stop these treacherous monsters praying on vunerable people.
Theives and Charlatans, all of you.

Karma ...
Oh yes it IS a scam!
And it is so well organized that they have even produced some really good websites and regularly post comment on forums in their favour!

please contact [protected]@virtualpcdoctor.com with your concerns, I am a user of this site, and to date have no problems,
I have just been contacted by them.

I did ask at the beginning of the call if they were going to try and sell me some software to 'correct' this problem and was told No, but from reading other comments this was obviously not correct.

As soon as they wanted to give me a 6 digit code, which I understood would allow them to access my computer remotely, I declined to go any further.

My view is that they are employing scare tactics to get people to buy software that they do not really need. Added to which I found it very difficult to understand the person I was speaking to and I think this adds to more confusuion.

I did challenge the person I was speaking to a couple of times and then someone else, presumably a supervisior who was listening in, took over and when he realised I was not going to give them what he wanted he gave me their tel. number[protected], WEB and e-mail address.

I have checked their web site and the tel number is the same, however he said they were in Manchester and this is a London number. I know calls can be remotely forwarded, but the quality of the line made it sound as if they were in fact calling from India, all of which made me very suspicious.

I live near Eastbourne. I don't know if that means this is the new area they are targetting.
yes its a scam /they pick on people trying to con them into taking there software that you can download free from the internet, and charge good money / its time these people were stopped from screwing decent people / from norma moore --- [protected]@talktalk.net
The whole experience left me traumatised unable to sleep that night...Although of reasonable intelligence, i am not so computer literate...between the bad phone connection the foreign accents and my personal situation caring for a very sick, frail husband...they had me cornered...I felt they had my computer hostage to their demands...despite my intention to hang-up ...they convinced me my computer would 'die' with out their intervention...or so it seemed to me...this went on for nearly two hours...yes the finacial demands were made and fortunately my credit card was unaccessable and I think I wore them out...now I will hang-up immediately to any cold-call...but it was a nasty experience.

I have been taken in by this, I felt frightened by them and as the computer was my daughters i didn't want anything to happen to her pc. After a long process i feel that they conned me out of £125 for one years protection. the virtual pc doctor took control of my pc remotely and i now feel very anxious after reading about the company.

I am not happy with what they have done and my computer seems a lot slower and they have appeared to have installed shortcut products which took approx 4 hours so my daughter was not able to use the pc for her home work and was very upset.

I now feel that I have been VIOLATED and am scared to use my personal details over the net in case they are watching etc. What can i do, my credit card bill will be here very soon. Can anyone enlighten me.

Virtual PC DR — Supposed viral software downloading

My parents were contacted by someone from a company called Virtual PC DR telling them for £168.00 they would download anti viral software to their laptop. They spoke with a very heavy accent and my father who is 78years of age gave them his bank details, then yesterday my son who is 17yrs was contacted by my mother who was very upset that their laptop was not running properly and was a bit slow and could one of my children come over and have a look at it,my son went over and discovered it was full of viruses, but by now they had already taken the money out of my parents account, they have stopped the monthly fee.
I just wanted to bring this to your attention that these people(if you can call them that) have conned 2 OAPs out of their hard earned pension money, they have now lost all trust in people over the phone, yes my father is well aware he should not have given out his bank details, but he is "old school" where if people say they will do something then they will I and my family are totally disgusted with these persons
