[Resolved] Vodafone — International Roaming | |||
I had been on International roaming till march 22nd. I had deactivated my International Roaming after coming back to India. But since then i have been charged the International Roaming Rent of 99Rs per month. Even after sending so many messages and speaking to most of the customer care agents no one has addressed my issue and its just not being attended. Phone number [protected]; [protected]. I have one Vodafone prepaid connection, in which I want international roaming activation. I have alrwady done all formalities like passport copy and Photo and a latter with Singapore contact address. on 19th OCT I started for Bangkok, I have called vodafone to activate my international roaming. customer care provided me wrong info that my international roaming is already activated.
when I landed in Bangkok, I could't get the signals. I immd. informed my office people to call vodafone and find out why my mobile is not working, using ISD Phone booth's at Bangkok.
locally my cousin tried several times to [protected] for complaining about the issue of not getting signals at Bangkok,
later during the day course by afternoon almost about 2 or 3 PM my mobile started working.
it worked for almost 36 hrs, in this hrs most of the times signal does't get properly, my voice is not clear when we call, lots of problems.
On 22nd morning my mobile again had same problem...no signal, what i faced very first day, actually my main usage and necessity was on last day for departure, .
I could not locate my bus, and i missed my bus for airport and it costed me huge by money, by time, by mental torture...only because your service was not activated properly.
I spend about Rs. 8,000/- using ISD Phone booths & other colleuges mobile for commnicating locally there in bangkok and in india.
My mobile have a facility of call divert to office staff mobile in case if my mobile is swicthed off or not reachable, due to no signal & connectivity most of my important clients
calls were not able to reply, and due to this I loosed my orders and effected my business.

I received confirmation of this activation by SMS. The activation charges were deducted from my account.
But I was not able to make ONE SINGLE OUTGOING CALL while i was travelling - in Singapore or Indonesia. In every country I received SMSes from Vodafone informing me that i was on international roaming, and informing me of the charges for their services, including for making calls, but I was NOT able to make ANY calls to ANY country from my phone. I could only receive calls and send and receive text messages.
Why was this and how can i ensure this wont happen again? If this is not rectifiable I need to change my service provider ASAP.

I HAVE ACTIVATED INTERNATIONAL ROAMING ON 11.07.2011 FOR AUSTRALIA . A MESSAGE CAME FROM COMPANY THAT YOUR ROAMING IS ACTIVATED AND CHARGES FOR SAME ARE DEDUCTED BUT IN AUSTRALIA MY NUMBER WAS NOT WORKING .I HAD TRIED BY MY FRIEND TO COMPLAINT AT VODAFONE BUT NO SOLUTION CAME. THEY ANSWERED THAT WE HAVE ACTIVATED BUT SERVICES FOR MY DESIRED NUMBER ( 91-[protected]) WERE NOT ACTIVATED.DUE TO THIS I HAVE TO LOSS SO MUCH BUSINESS AND FACED SO MUCH TROUBLE AS WELL AS CHARGES TO BE PAID.
I had taken a mobile postpaid connection in vodafone last month and deposited Rs 5000 for international roaming as I had to travel to Germany on official visit. On my return I was shocked to see the bille received for Rs 1734 from vodafone. Looking at the details I found most of the charges were for GPRS usage in roaming that too for miniscule timings like 50 sec , 45sec etc. On enquiry people in vodafone said it is because of the autoconnectivity and downloads. they also said complaint will be registered and money will be refunded. Today I went to hear that nothing can be done and I should have been careful regarding the settings to avoid autoconnect. I was annoyed by the irresponsible from such a international brand leading to ashame in india. I had to ask only one question if they will charge the tea I was offered during the waiting time just because I had taken it. With this note I would like to say vodafone is more than irresponsible in handling customers and complaints.
Do not get trapped with polishing words while you go abroad with this operator.

20th - 24th Nov - Dubai
Total 3642 Calls KB usage - 7977.7 - Charge Rs, 23303.50
1st to the 8th May - Spain & Austria
Total 57 Calls Kb usage 10793.31 - Charge Rs. 6088.50
In dubai , bbm would hang , emails would hang so i guess the calls on data is showing more , as per vodafone the charges per 10kb is Rs. 5.5 so the actual charge should be less than the one on Spain and Austria , they have agreed to same and shown their gesture by gibing no reason yet to the discrepancy but a Rs, 5000 off , which is ridiculous

What is the one time charge of INR1, 684 mentioned on the website? It says you'll be charged Rs 99 automatically when you reach the international destination. I'm a little confused, would anyone mind helping? Btw this is the link for reference
