Respected Sir/Madam,
I am filing this complaint against Country Inn Holidays (also known as Country Inn Travels) for committing travel fraud and misleading me with false promises regarding a domestic travel package.
I purchased a travel package worth approximately ₹90, 000, which was marketed as providing 30 days of stay and free travel vouchers for domestic destinations. The company representatives promised flexible bookings and free stays under certain conditions.
However, after the payment:
Every time I tried to book a stay, they insisted I “be flexible with dates, ” and even after changing dates multiple times, they claimed no availability.
They asked me to call 15 days before travel, and then refused booking, citing “no slots available.”
After repeated follow-ups, I managed to get only one stay.
When I tried using the “free voucher” again, they demanded ₹6, 000 as additional charges. Upon checking on MakeMyTrip, the same property’s total cost was ₹6, 000 — proving the company’s claim of a “free stay” was false and deceptive.
This constitutes unfair trade practice, misrepresentation, and fraud under:
Sections 2(1)(r) and 49(1)(a) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (Unfair Trade Practices)
Section 420 of the IPC (Cheating)
IT Act, 2000 (if online payment was made)
I request you to:
1. Investigate and take necessary action against Country Inn Holidays for fraudulent business practices.
2. Direct the company to refund my ₹90, 000 and compensate for mental harassment and loss of time.
3. Ensure their operations are reviewed to prevent future consumer exploitation.
