[Resolved] Country Vacations — Lured to pay for membership and plots | |||
Hi This happened in 2009. I was informed of lucky draw win and when we were there they informed us about the membership. We asked for time to think but they insist in paying today only as the offer is for only one day. After we paid Rs. 40000, they informed of a new plot in Bangalore for another 40000. They collected the cash and included the money for the membership, not for plot. Total we had paid Rs. 80000. I tried to book their room once, they said I need to inform 2 months in advance as all the facility is full. I asked them to cancel the membership, but they said there's no option to cancel as per agreement. They never give us the agreement to read. Was this information helpful? | |||

For me its been more than 5 months I had made the payment and came to know about these fraudsters only while booking the holidays. Did you guys take any other action on them?

How to get back our money

I have received 25000
I had never used their facilities so I had requested several times to cancel the membership and return my money, but instead they never let me speak to the right person asking to speak to different branch. Also, they kept sending reminder emails and phone calls to pay annual membership renewal. I was so pissed off an asked not to send anymore reminders and I didn't pursue the refund as I felt they only make me furious and lose my temper.
This is to create an awareness to at least a few people about these fraudsters who make money by giving false promises and inducing the excitement of the people. They target the middle class people and make them aspire to live a rich man's life. They keep saying that we all need to take family vacations bi-annually to be happy and they give us this opportunity by offering to use their facilities present nationwide for a small membership fees on a big discount on that particular day. But in reality you could never go on that vacation and moreover their facilities are always booked, may be there are so many members and limited facilities.
I feel cheated and become a prey, because they made me visit their place by giving a small bait by the way of a small gift. They made me pay a huge sum (Rs. 80, 000) for which I got nothing at all, except family dispute. I'd like to warn you about these people, they are only behind your money and you sign up with them if you really think you would need their service, don't fall for their compulsion. Take a day or a week to think before you pay them any money, it might never come back once you had paid.

1. If payment made through Credit card, raise dispute to the bank immediately
2. if payment made through Debit card or cash, then you need to file FIR against Country Club & file case in consumer forum as well
