I am writing to formally report an incident involving DTC bus DL1PD 4937, operating on Route 507CL from Dholakuan to Okhla Abul Fazal Enclave, which occurred on 12th July 2025 between 12:00 PM and 12:15 PM, near the Jamia Millia Islamia bus stop.
At this location, the bus was halted, and the staff informed passengers that the road was blocked due to another bus, D001.
All passengers of 507CL (DL1PD 4937) were instructed to deboard the bus, allegedly because it couldn’t proceed.
However, after a few minutes, the road was cleared, and both D001 and DL1PD 4937 buses started functioning again. Shockingly, instead of allowing passengers to reboard, DL1PD 4937 changed its display to “Breakdown” and drove away empty towards Okhla Terminal, leaving all passengers behind without any assistance or explanation.
This situation was not only extremely inconvenient but also reflects irresponsible and misleading conduct by the bus staff. Specifically:
The road was cleared, yet passengers were not allowed back on board.
The bus was not genuinely broken down but used the breakdown sign as an excuse.
No alternative arrangements or guidance were provided to the stranded passengers.
Such behavior is unacceptable from a public transport service. It shows a lack of accountability and disregard for passenger safety and convenience.
I kindly request that a full investigation be carried out into this matter and that suitable disciplinary action be taken against the staff involved. DTC must ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future and that its services remain reliable and transparent.
