Bought in October 2004 in Chennai. After a few years of good performance in 2014 year second half experienced no cooling and no ice formation as coil was frosted up. No trace of authorised service provider. Local technician traced problem asked for change of PCB. Spent Rs10000. In beginning 2017 local technician responded after several attempts. He has taken PCB for repair and no response even after a month and numerous tel calls. Bought a new Haier 303 litres fridge. Dealer said exchange of old DFF will give me Rs2000 that too after bargaining. A good electronics person should be able to repair the PCB. A fridge mechanic should be able or be trained to convert to a conventional fridge eliminating PCB. All our ITIs and IITs if they address this problem there can be lot of savings and avoidance of electronic plastic and scrap metal pollution of environment.
