Expedia — irresponsible experience with expedia

1. I just had totally irresponsible experience with expedia
2. On 19th sept 2018 i did the booking at hilton new castle gateshead, but i did not received any booking confirmation from expedia.
3. Accordingly on 21st september 2018 my secretary wrote an email to the hotel and expedia.
4. Since i did not receive any communication about my booking, we talked to the hotel and they answer in negation about the booking. I was worried about the booking and thought of making another attempt to expedia for the same booking, for which i got an email confirmation immediately with another booking no………………..
5. On receiving the (Citibank credit card statement dated 14.10.2018) i observed surprisingly that expedia has charged me twice for the same booking.
6. At the time of check in, the front desk officer (Reception) neither expedia intimated that i have two bookings / repeated payments for the same booking on my name and simply kept silence nor they ever bothered to look into my account for double booking or my email complaint.
7. On contacting expedia us as well as india, the answer was they cannot help or do anything inspite of no response for my query. Can anyone help me how to recover money from them.
