[Resolved] Flipkart — 500 gb internal hard disk (supplied product different from ordered but do not refunding)

I ordered a 500 WD blue caviar harddisk vide order no. od[protected] on Sep 19th Nov 17. The product was delivered on on 24th Sep 17. While trying to install it, it was not working and when checked with WD customer care they told that it was out of warranty. The product that was delivered was 500 gb wd 5000avds which had green label. After complaint, the company took time to confirm that they will replace the product. It was more than 15 days. In the meantime, I purchased another hard disk from the market and installed it. When the company was ready to replace, I asked for refund but they refused because the replacement has been delivered. Again it was WD 5000AVDS instead of 500gb blue caviar 5000AkAX. Once again I confronted them on 18/11/17, then i got a mail on 23/11/17 asking for details of bank account. I sent 3/4 mails on 24th/25th and 28th Nov 17, but I got a reply on 26th Nov 17 we are closing the case as there is no reply. I do not understand what the company is trying to prove telling that the customer is not eligible for refund as it from no return policy, even though the seller is at fault supplying damaged/not working items and different item which is cheaper by RS, 1000/- or so. And when they are ready to refund, no proper mechanism is in place to see the mail and only automated replies are coming. Even contacting the customer care no [protected], on 27thNov and 28th Nov i got a message that they will call back by 8.30pm, but after the schedule time they send message saying we apologise for not being able to call. Pl contact customer care [protected]. What kind of response you can make out from this story. I am aggrieved and want my money Rs.2715/- paid be me with additional cost of Rs.10000/- as damages as the affairs of the company is managed in way to damage the interest of the consumer and no proper redressal mechanism in force. The company is not serious and does not have any hold on the supplier, as they despatch differenct, defective/out of warranty items and the company takes shelter under no return policy which is very much against the interest of the consumer.

I got back the refund amount without damages credited to my account and i got a mail also.. But the response from the flipkart executive shows that the company is not strict with the suppliers as to the product quality and terms of sale. The executive does not have any reply for the supply of defective, different and out of warranty items and non response to the email sent which shows that the company very badly has to do something to improve its image, by maintaining quality suppliers and ensuring the customer rights/expectations are fulfilled, rather than taking refuge under terms of sale, ie the no return policy.
[Dec 08, 2017] Flipkart customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
