[Resolved] Flipkart — Customer care provides wrong information | |||||
I ordered a new laptop redeeming the exchange offer on 2 oct. Call it my ignorance or perils o[censored]sing autofill, the serial number of the laptop i wanted to exchange was submitted as hh (Which clearly is not a number). I received the order processing details on 4th oct when the product was to be shipped, and in the invoice i noticed the mistake and immediately called up the customer care. I asked if the current order details can be rectified or should i cancel this order and place a fresh one as the exchange offer was still live, keeping in mind that the product was not yet dispatched from the warehouse. However, the customer care representative replied that serial number does not matter much and i should explain the issue to the pickup guy who will take care of the whole process, adding that only one condition should be fulfilled, i. E., the laptop i wish to exchange should be in working condition. Comes 9th of oct, i have already formatted my working laptop, uninstalled all the applications and ready to receive the new one. I was happy that i would be able to customize the new laptop during a non-working day so that my work on monday does not get affected. But during deliver, the delivery guy refused taking my old laptop due to serial number mismatch, i called up the customer care and they bluntly refused to look into the issue, declining taking any responsibility of the mistake of a member of their own team. Overall, the poor delivery guy had to waste his morning carrying around the large package and i had to face an agonizing embarrassment all due to some imbecile working for flipkart's customer relationship team who is not aware of basic company policies and terms of service. Not forgetting that i am left with no working device as of now, and will be re-customizing my old device through the night so as to not to miss my work tomorrow. Also, since we are talking about customer service, flipkart should really consider employing a real person rather than a bot to reply to their facebook messages and emails. Hours go by but no one replies to your grievances in "just a bit (Sic)". Please clarify whether i would be receiving the product by exchanging my old device, since i am not the one to be blamed for wrong serial number ever since your representative got involved on 4th oct, or are you guys still reluctant to admit the blunder on your part and have nothing but a cheeky "sorry for the inconvenience" as a reply.
