[Resolved]  Flipkart — gift card expiration

We had gift cards worth about rs.9500 in our account, which we got as a gift. We used the gift card coupon codes to add it to the account. Flipkart app did not mention the expiry date for the gift card. However, when we recently checked, we find that the gift card amount is 0. When we checked with the flipkart customer care, they mentioned that it has expired. The flipkart app did not give any indication or warning about the expiration. The stand of the customer care is that the gifter should have informed of the expiration and there is no further action possible from their side. The is the same response from 2 levels of customer care we when thru.
Our unanswered question is that this is not some discount coupon that can expire without notification. This is actual money payed. How can this expire and there is no way to appeal? The app does not provide the basic required information, which the customer care also acknowledged. However no action is taken, stating internal policy. This is unacceptable, especially because it involved large amount of money.
