I have given my Ford Ecosport Car for servicing on 03 Jul 20 at Harpreet Ford, Sahibabad. During the preliminary checks by service advisor, I was told that the Car Key battery is low & needs to be changed. Although, I never faced any issue in unlocking & locking of car. The car key was functioning properly before the servicing.
However, I picked the car from service centre & took it back home. While locking the car in my garage at home, I realised that the remote locking is not functioning properly & the car is locking/unlocking only when brought in vicinity to the car.
We decided to complain about this issue to the service centre on Monday(06 Jul 20). On Monday, the issue was brought to the notice of technical advisor, who handled our servicing. He requested for bringing the car to the service centre on 07 Jul 20. The service centre tried to resolve the issue by re-programming the key (as claimed). However, still the issue couldn't be resolved. They said that the key needs to be replaced with a new one and asked us to pay for it.
I am not able to accept this offer view the key was fully functional despite fitted with almost discharged battery (claimed by Service centre). Now, wen the key is not working optimally, after replacement with new battery, the onus is being passed on to us. The service head- Ms Sudha talked very rudely with my wife and has claimed that we have damaged our car key. She said that we will need to pay 25% of the amount for replacement with a new key.
Since, we have not done any damage to our key, plus the car key was functioning perfectly before servicing of the Car. Then why should we be penalised unnecessarily. Firstly, they have damaged our less-used key, and then they are passing the blame on us and also charging us for the mistake of theirs.
I have been taking services of Harpreet Ford since 2016. And this is the second time I may facing such issue, while availing services for my car.
I request the authority to please take necessary & urgent steps to resolve this issue at the earliest & also reprimand Ms. Susha for such a rude & careless behaviour with the customers.
