Ford India — Servicing of Ford Car at Hans Ford, Porur Chennai

I have given my Ford Fiesta Classic Car Regn.No.TS09EK3844 for Body Shop and Servicing to Hans Ford Porur (Chennai) on 28th Sept., 2023 with Job Card prepared both for Body Shop and Servicing together.

I was assured that Body Shop work will be over by 3rd Oct., 2023 and for Servicing another 2-3 days. Hence, Car Delivery after Body Shop and Servicing will be done tentatively on 6th Oct., 2023.

Body Shop Engineer Mr.Rajesh promtly called me on 3rd Oct., 2023 and appraised that due to holiday on 2nd Oct., 2023 Body Shop work will be completed on 4th Oct., 2023 and he will hand over the Car to Servicing Department on 5th Oct., 2023. Subsequently, the Car was handed over to Mr. Arun in Servicing Deptt. for Servicing (on which date I dont know).

However, I got a call and message from Mr. Arun - Servicing Engineer on 9th Oct., 2023 informing me and sent thereby in my Whatsapp an Estimate for the Servicing Spare Parts/Charges amounting to approx. Rs.12200/= based on the issues pointed out in the Job Card. The estimate also contained cost of Wheel Cap amounting to Rs.3000/= which I cancelled and hence, my tentative cost for Servicing was coming to approx. Rs.9200/=. I had given my consent/approval for the Estimation of Rs.9200/=. This estimate was given based on all the problems pointed out by me duly mentioned in the Job Card (Air Contioning Cooling was 1st item pointed out specifically).

However, on 13th Oct., 2023 I again received a call from Mr. Arun - Service Engineer and I though that it is a call for taking delivery of the Car. However, was shocked, as Mr. Arun informed on phone that apart from the approved estimation there will be an extra cost of around Rs.45000/= for setting right the Air Conditioner Cooling. Obviously, it was ridiculous on the part of your Service Engineer with an intention to harash a Senior Citizen retired person like me (Aged 62 yrs) and putting exorbidant cost on me and insisting me to give consent for the same over phone, otherwise, Car Delivery will be kept on hold and Air Conditioner work will not be done.

Since this extra cost of around Rs.45000/= for Air Conditioner repairing was not told to me at the time of Job Card OR sending me the final estimation in Whatsapp on 13th Oct., 2023 and that the cost was beyond my capacity, I was helpless on falling to the pressure of your Service Engineer - Mr. Arun for giving a consent over phone. Now, my Car is held up in Hans Ford Porur (Chennai) and I am put to immense trouble, pressure and Pain at this old age with no further response from Hans Ford Porur (Chennai).

Under the circumstances I seek your intervention to RESOLVE my issue without any extra exhorbitant cost and ensure that my Car is serviced based on the Points noted in the Job Card and final estimation of Rs.9200/= approved by me and finalized by your Service Engineer - Mr. Arun.
