Freechutil — fraud transaction on credit card | |||
Yesterday at about 1.07 pm i received a sms. “ your credit card has been blocked”. For help pl call +[protected]. Since this was quite an unexpected, i wanted to find out the details. So i called this no. And there was quick response. He said, my credit card is blocked and to activate the same card you need to give us some card information. His conversation was quite convincing. Nitially i had a doubt. So i asked him, who r u. And where r u calling from? His reply was so convincing, he said, he was calling from my sbi credit card head quarters at thiruvanathapuram, he said his nam and his job identity card no and al credit card. He said my card is to be retired for reactivation and he aske for tomy card details as we r generally asked byehen we try to call the toll free no. Then, he asked me to check my mobile for an sms. I saw the sms then he asked me to tell him the otp. He said it is required to register my credit card for activation. Then after a while, when i asked him more details about him and why was gopher asking al these details etc. He retreated the it required to registration and for nothing else. So since i was talking to him, it looked like the otptime hdad lapsed. So he he send another sms n in the same way, he asked me to tell him athe otp which was sent to me in the second sms. Here also i asked him certain questions to check the authenticity of this activity and apparently it looked as if the otp time had lapsed. So he again asked me to check sms and asked me to read out the otp number.in the mean time when i read the sms once again, i saw instead of regnant no 9989, it was written rs. 9989.00. When i asked him why is it so.. He tried to convince me that it not rs. It is registration no. And once again he asked me to read out the fresh otp no. Or else, my card will not be activated. This time also i was talking to him and told him that i really doubt there is something fishy and alland i stopped the conversation and i din’t tell him the otp from the last sms. I disconnected my mobile. And i was thinking of what to do. Then i received a sms “ rs. 9, 989.00 was spent on your sbi cardending with xxxx at freechutilon 10/01/20. Know more on the app:https://sbicard.com/mobile-app. in the mean time, i also had received a transaction alert message from sbi. Where it was mentioned that there appears to be a transaction for inr 9, 989.006, where it was mentioned that if you find this transaction suspecious pl call xxxxxxxxx or their tool free no.[protected]. So immediately i called sbi’s toll free no and explained everything to the. And asked them to spot this payment and also to block my credit card and issue another new one. I strongly feel that this kind of fraud transactions can not be accepted.. Btw, another point i missed out is, when i called him to find out the details, he had asked me to download an app “quick access with team viewer which i did. Another point, it was my keen interest to find out as much details about this, that i searched the internet a few hours back. Where i typed a key word “freechutil” which was mentioned in the last sms to me. From the search results i have reached uptill now. And as per the informations this activity has taken place in and around mumbai. Certainly i would like a thorough investigation and the culprits given exembkery punishment always o ensure that this transacted amount if become effective, please i want my money back into my account.
