I, Malvika Sharma, had rented a cupboard and shoe rack from Furlenco, and I had scheduled the return on 24 Feb 2023. The pickup was confirmed by the team and then no one showed up stating we do not have services of pickup in Kolkata.
I had informed them well in advance that I was relocating to another city, and it was important that the items be picked up on the agreed date. However, Furlenco unilaterally rescheduled the pickup to multiple dates, stating "no pickup services available inthe city" as the reason.
I kept raising concerns over calls, messages and emails but no response was provided and the issue kept getting delayed.This has caused me severe inconvenience, emotional stress, and additional logistical burden, especially during relocation. And now after more than 2 years I keep getting calls to return the products when I am no longer staying at the location and it was a rented property. I keep getting new messages and emails everyday with sorry for the inconvenience caused email with no response to my actual issue and they want me to connect with current tenant who god knows who is. When I ask how is that possible since I no longer stay there and the land lady has also relocated I do not get any response. When clearly these guys didn't pick it up, these guys told me their system was under maintenance, so nobody came to pick up the products for past 2 years.
There are multiple emails, where they are not responding, multiple customer care agents who are not aware of issue, but simply calling and asking me to pay money, there's no communication at all, and then there are random agents who are literally calling with threatens of legal notice. The furlenco team didn't pick it up when they were supposed to, I had to leave city, still I waited for these guys to pick it up but these guys didn't even respond to my pick up request.
They don't even care about it, they deliberately don't pick up items and then charge lump sum amount to retrieve their money after taking rent for the whole rental period.
Despite repeated follow-ups, they have failed to:
Pickup the items on the agreed dates
Provide any resolution or support
Offer compensation or apology
Reliefs Sought:
Written apology for deficiency in service
I request the Consumer Forum to kindly take appropriate action against Furlenco for their unprofessional and negligent behavior.
