The recent walk-in recruitment drive at Genpact Kolkata was extremely mismanaged, causing significant inconvenience to hundreds of candidates. Candidates arrived to find a large-scale walk-in drive with over a thousand attendees. They were made to stand under the scorching sun for more than three hours without proper seating or refreshments. Upon entering the campus, security personnel informed them that interviews would not take place, as selections had already been made. When candidates protested, the HR team initially dismissed the issue as a "miscommunication" but later assured them that interviews would proceed. However, the process remained chaotic, with candidates being asked to join virtual interviews on Microsoft Teams, leading to further technical issues such as battery drainage, without any alternative arrangements provided. Those who did manage to enter the first round found the questions irrelevant to the job role, such as being asked how they would respond if their manager took them for coffee. The entire experience reflected poor coordination, lack of professionalism, and an unfair hiring process, highlighting the need for immediate improvements in Genpact’s recruitment practices.
