GoAir — Regarding cancellation of flight two times back-2-back for the same PNR IBGHXQ | |||
Hi, I want to highlight an issue which I am facing from GoAir airline. The actions are done by airline which is very disappointing and also indicates how much they care to their customers/passengers during this pandemic situation. From MakeMyTrip site, I booked a flight ticket dated 22June'21 with travel date 02July'21 & PNR number "IBGHXQ". As I was travelling with my family along with two small kids and by considering the COVID situation, I opted for a direct flight with the shortest duration (2.20 hr). On dated 28June'21, I received an SMS on my mobile with flight change information. Very surprised to see the updated flight details. As per that msg, my booked direct flight has been changed with connecting flight via Mumbai & with a travel duration 7hrs+. First of I was unable to understand the sense of this mapping. Being traveling with family, booked direct flight how can you offer this connecting flight??? Anyway I called to GoAir support team and told me as operational reason of this cancellation & they offered me two option with very clear note " This option can be utilized only one time so make sure very clearly before taking any option" 1- Reschedule the ticket for other days (next 4 days I guess) 2- Cancel the ticket with a full refund As we have to reach destination "Bangalore" asap due to emergency reason and also to save deduction from MakeMyTrip as the mediator for the booking, I had opted option (1) and rescheduled my trip for next day (3rd July) for the same direct flight which had the same departure and arrival time (travel duration 2.20 hr). But I was very much surprised to see on 2ndJuly morning by seeing SMS on my mobile again. Never thought infact never had such an experience with any airline till now. 3July'21 was the travel date and on 2nd July again it got canceled and offered the same flight which they given before, meaning connecting flight via Mumbai which will take 5hr+. A very big question "How can you do this again" ????? I wanted to reach Bangalore asap so I didn't want to take chance for next-day travel with the same airline and requested to cancel my booking with full refund. So that I can book the ticket with another airline on that I trust lot. So I booked the ticket of the same day (3rd July'21) with another airline. As we know flight fares change dynamically especially the next day booking. - So as usual I paid an additional very high amount to book the ticket for 3rd July'21 date. - Although the ticket cancelled from GoAir with a full refund but MakeMyTrip deducted a good amount from this cancelled flight - Wasted my time and disturbed a lot due to this cancellation two times at very short time before travel date. - Taken 2 days Paid off from my employer to plan this trip. - Once flight gets cancel from GoAir, offer to passengers only one time change option what about airline in case flight cancel multiple times ???? I need the compensation for all my losses financial & mental side. I disturbed a lot due to this cancellation from GoAir side and then I booked ticket at high cost.
