I want to share my horrible experience with Great India Travels.
It started with me getting an email from them stating that they are offering attractive holiday packages.
Finding the packages attractive, on 14th June, 2012, I opted for them, the moment I called them showing my interest, I received a call back from them, not once but 4-5 times. The Representatives called Javed & Ram explained things and even asked which hotel I would like to book and on what dates. They also stated that my package (including holiday vouchers and a free gift) would be dispatched within a week’s time.
A couple of days later, I purchased a 2nd package from them; again they called me upfront and helped me to make the payments.
10 days later, I started wondering that when my package would arrive, all of a sudden, the normal helpline number did not work and my calls were automatically disconnected. Luckily, Javed had shared his mobile number with me; I called that number and was informed that it would be dispatched within 2 days. Another week passed by and there was still no response. Now, Javed starting ignoring my calls. I started calling them, 40-50 times a day, but again, there was no response.
I called them from a different number and the call was answered immediately, however, the moment I mentioned my name, Javed disconnected my call.
Later, a girl answered my call on the same number and stated that she is new and does not know anything and even she disconnected my call. This exercise went for a week.
I was really frustrated by then and called them from a friend’s number stating that I would myself visit their office and spoke rudely with them. Moments later a person called from their team and stated that my verification call is still pending and that’s the reason my package is yet to be dispatched. He however, assured me that he will ensure that its dispatched within a week.
10 days later, I received an email from them stating that my package has been dispatched through courier. However, when I contacted the courier service, I was informed that I had to go and collect the package in person from their nearest branch!
Finally, on 21st July, being totally fed up, I went and collected my package. I was shocked to see that the voucher stated that I had to choose 2 destinations and only one of them would be confirmed!
This was not at all expected, my entire honeymoon plan was shaken. I called the helpline number and was informed that I would have to give 2 dates and only one of them would be confirmed, so ideally I had to plan for 2 places and 2 dates for my holiday. When I questioned their staff (Named Abhishek), that I have a booked flight ticket and what needs to be done about that, he disconnected my call.
Now, I have sent them 3 emails for cancelling my package and refund status, and they are not responding to it.
Guys, this is a humble request, DO NOT USE THESE CHEATS TO PLAN YOUR HOLIDAY EVER.
It’s Better to pay more rather than relying on these money suckers.
