I gave my skoda superb for a regular interval service to Gurudev motors ambattur on the 18th of November 23. I had requested a driver to come and pick up the car. When the driver came to pick up the car as part of his inspection he broke the latch to the card holder/coin box under the steering wheel. Immediately he existed the car and told me that the latch was broken already and that he wanted to report the issue to me. When I told him that it was impossible since I have never used that in the 5+ years of owning the car ( in fact I even forgot that the box was there) he mentioned that it was regular wear and tear and it was normal that it was broken. Having said this he took the car. I later informed the service advisor about this he mentioned that he would check and come back. He didnt. Later when I followed up with the customer service rep, I was told that the driver was not at fault and that I would need to replace the entire part. A day later when I again followed up with the service advisor I was told that it would cost me INR 28, 000 to replace the box since they couldnt replace only the latch and that it wasnt their fault that the latch was broken.

Later he called me back and told me that I would need to replace a few service parts and the indicative bill was INR 50000. He also mentioned that this would be in addition to the 18000 for the interval service. He also tried to tell me to change the brake discs which would cost about INR 15K. I informed him that I had changed the discs roughly 10 months ago and the car wasnt used for more than 10K he immediately changed his approach and told me that the discs were fine. He never mentioned anything about the storage box.

Naturally I was upset and I asked them to return the car without any service which he agreed to immediately. He wasnt even interested in hearing what I had to say. I escalated this to the assistant manager but there was no use.

What upset me was that. I am being made to pay for something which was not my fault. The driver broke the coin box during his inspection and why am I supposed to pay for this. Secondly the service advisor was unapologetic. He sounded like he was doing me a favour by servicing my car. Lastly I had to follow up with the customer service rep multiple times before my car was delivered.

I wish to take this up with Skoda service India and report this issue:

My interval service is not done.
No clear resolution on the coin box issue
No clear explanation of why I have to swap parts for INR 50000
Poor customer service from the service advisor Mr. Satish

    Iam skoda rapid customer my vehicle no TN20CQ0099 Body shop work and service handover on 3rd July 2023 still vehicle not ready service Advisor Mr.Murali and service Manager Mr.Siva shankar Delivery commitment on 15th July Eve 4 o'clock then me and my driver came on 4 o'clock Mr.Muarali said vehicle not ready you collect on 17th evening. we are coming from Kanchipuram 90km my plan totally struck I missed flait i loosed so much of cost and iam waiting service centre more than 1 hour in, service centre service manger not ready to spoke with me this not good very worst customer handling and worst service lot of communication gap iam totally upset then Mr.Murali came and spoke I give one vehicle again after 15min came and told I don't have vehicle irritated to me take action if you refuse my complaint i go to leagal action for skoda and gurudev motors I have attached voice recording and live photos your kind Reference take action immediately

      Hi This is Boobalan from Tiruvallur. I Left my Skoda kodiaq TN20CR8136 in your Ambattur service centre for periodic service and also complained about mild suspension noise and sun visor replacement under warranty.while service they broke the visor and fixed with some glues.now they are asking me to pay for replacement.after service suspension is very rigid and very hard to turn steering.i paid for water wash also but they didn’t wash it properly and dirt stains all over the body.I spoke with service team but they refused to rectify and no one has called me till now.worst service team I ever met.

          Hi,
          I own Skoda Superb. It is regularly serviced by Gurudev since 2015. Recently they have found an issue in Mechatronic & have advised for replacement. I have paid 10K as advance to start the job however the parts manager is forcing us to pay entire component amount as advance which is close to 80000 INR. This is not fair. The car has been thoroughly maintained by Skoda Service Center. I cannot pay any further advance until the job is complete & the car is delivered.

            They all are doing false commitment for doing delivery of car in arumbakkam branch. Simply saying rto site error. The same saying for almost 2 weeks.

              Hi,

              I have given my Skoda Rapid -TN 14 V 4619 vehicle at Ambattur Gurudev motors service center for first service on 13/02/2021.

              After 4 days I have been called and told there is a Rat bite and while "RECTIFYING" that, they said the ECM had a short circuit.

              Now they are charging 1.45 LAKHs for that and adding that it will NOT COVER under insurance.

              I HAVEN'T EVEN REGISTERED ANY COMPLAINT.

              Insurance personnel is saying that if there was a short circuit with ECM already, then I couldn't drive the vehicle.

              Now it is already been 1 month, but still they are not returning my vehicle. I need my CAR AS IT IS without any change.

              I'd like to get this resolved soon else I would like to inform that I would take legal actions through consumer court.

                Gurudev motors, service center for skoda cars in chennai is overcharging customers by an additional 2% over the bill amount as service charge if one pays by credit card and i was told 1% if you pay by debit card.
                I had to take my skoda yeti for service and repairs to the gurudev motors, skoda service center at the ambit park road, ambattur industrial estate, chennai on[protected]. I was billed for rs 40991 for the repairs but the cashier collected rs 41810 since i was paying by credit card. This seems to be a gross violation of prime minister modi's policy to encourage electronic payment methods as against cash payments which in turn support tax evasion. I hope the company takes cognizance of this and corrects its policies soon.

                No peace of mind I guess after purchasing Skoda!

                  Worst service team & the dealer. Cant even have car pick up for the service.
                  First they told me they will pick up the car. Now they saying no. I really dont understand whats their problem. Response from the service team is very harsh. They cant even answer with patience. Totally disappointed. There are no other service centre in chennai. The only choice is this. Skoda please change the dealer else you will surely lost your valuable customers.

                    Hi all,
                    I got new skoda rapid on dec-2012 and it is good car more than 70, 000 miles are done now, no issues and good performance. Regular maintenance is done on skoda service bangalore or gurudev motors at vellore.
                    Our car met an accident on 16-apr-2017 and car has been sent to gurudev motors ambattur chennai for repair on the same day by insurance company (Bajaj allianz insurance). I had submitted all required documents in 1 or 2 days after accident and inspection also done and estimation everything completed within first 2 weeks, gurudev motors has estimated more than 6.2 lac which is more than declared ide value (5.2 lac), so insurance company give me only option to go total loss and we do not want to sale that good car, but we agreed for total loss because there are no other option. Bajaj allianz insurance was taking long time to approve and i did regular follow up and i had escalated all the levels, finally it has been approved after 60 days (2 months) for an approval process. But gurudev motors asking surprisingly around rs.30, 000 (Thirty thousand rupee for gate pass) without doing any repair, parking charges around 23, 000 including tax (Twenty three thousand rupee) and rs.7221 for estimation.
                    Insurance company is not ready to pay these changes, then i had agreed to pay rs.7221. I did not agreed to pay parking charges, because it was not informed while leaving car for repair and it was not mentioned in the job car as well. Now i got stuck here, no one helping me on case, because i am working usa now for temporally. My question to gurudev motors/skoda service center, when you guys committing to repair car within a month and they start ordering parts after customer paid more than 50% of estimated amount, sometime it takes even more than 4 months, are you guys paying any rental charges to car owner or giving any alternate car to owner like stand by?. What compensation to customer for delay, if so how many customer you have paid for the delay? Do you have terms and condition in the job card?
                    I was think to buy new skoda rapid, because we like the skoda cars (In face everyone likes skoda car, people will not buy because skoda service and maintenance, unnecessary parking charges like this), i am not going buy any more skoda car and i am going share my experience with others as much as possible. This is very bad experience, we did not go to gurudev motors to park our car, we had went to repair the car, unfortunately it more than 60 days for total loss approval from bajaj allianz insurance. They are not giving gate pass even after paying rs.7221 for estimation

                    Also we once again inform you that we are forced to the collect the parking charges during billing as per business terms. Kindly make yourself free and make an arrangement for take the vehicle at the earliest.

                    This is being parked in our valuable work bay and lead us service difficulty to others.

                    Long idle will leads to create the consequential losses as well as the deterioration losses which will be add on charges from your side.

                      Sir, Iam Antony Manoj Xavier i own a skoda octavia car of regestration number TN 12 Q 8199.unfortunately i meet a accident near pondicherry there said that there is no skoda help line in that area so i bought it to chennai .the accident is on 11/12/16 on 13/12/16 i came to my nearest sevice center which is ambattur GURUDEV MOTERS there said we cannot take the vechicale come on 19/12/16 which is monday.i handovered my car . i have reacently cheak my car to know the status there is no action no work is done till 23/12/16. i ask them to give the vehicale before 25/12/16 .still i dont know what is going on . but now they told that we dont have some parts so u kindly give us a advance amount so that we can make order.even i have put a BUMPER TO BUMPER insurence BAJAJ .of rupees 1 lakhs they are treating the custmer like anything. so please kingly make a note and make a response and make satisfy he custer for choosing skoda.

                        NEVER EVER BUY A SKODA CAR. Especially from Gurudev Motors, Chennai. Completely unreliable and incompetent technicians. Gave my Rapid for service on Thursday and still haven't got it. There are even unable to identify why there is a certain issue with my car for 3 days. I bought the car in 2013 and so far I have spent nearly 3 lakhs from my pocket to just service every part that goes wrong. These guys literally push you to tears. Anyone who wants to live in peace, please don'y buy Skoda.

                          My vehicle TATA Indica registration no.TN01 AA 2264 is under AMC which ends on 16.07.2017 had air-conditioning problem. I left my vehicle for service with them and was told that it will incur a charge of Rs.20, 000/- to fix the a/c. For which I denied and asked them to go ahead with regular over oiling service covered under AMC. They changed the Oil and charged me Rs.5, 610/- (Rs.3033 for oil change and Rs.2756 towards labour) This is not digestable. Why they charged such an high labour. As far as my AMC contract they said it is null and void as TATA MOTORS have printed it wrong on my contract and it is not for 3 years but for 2 years. I need your help to resolve this.

                            I am facing really very poor service with Gurudev motors workshop for my Skoda Laura RS every time when I leave for service they taking too much of time for delivery and if any spare replacement they are simply saying out of stock so it will be delayed. This time it has taken more than a month still they are asking 20 days and saying we dint receive the spares. If we give them pressure they are simply giving the toll free # and asking to speak with them. Really getting very fed up of skoda service even though I am Lover of skoda.

                              Believe me friends, I've been using car for 25 yrs. Worst service team & the dealer i have ever met in my life. Its just all about my cars battery to be replaced because it went down.
                              I've been given appointment sharp around 9 30AM, and it took 11 20AM for these Gurudev Motors people to attend my car for just changing the new battery. Pathetic, Actully the story starts from here. Before my car went inside the service yard, i clearly told the service adviser Mr.Arun that i need my warranty card of the battery because I'm selling this car to my uncle who is in Banglore. It again took 1hr for them to pick the battery from their stores and replace. You wont believe trust me, Mr Arun service adviser of Gurudev Motors writing my car number TN07AQ5521 on the Owners manual book of the Skoda Battery and giving it to me stating that "this is a WARRANTY CARD". I was shocked and irritated by seeing this. "Ultimate Cheating" .
                              The story didn't end up with this, i was really worried whether these guys have changed a new battery or had taken it from some other car. When i checked it, yes it was new but the even more worst part is that, the date of manufacturing of the battery which was fixed in my car was 2011 manufactured battery and the current date was 05/06/2013.
                              I think dealers like Gurudev Motors has thoughts like nothing can be done beyond their own world because they are the only monopoly in Chennai. 90% of the problem will be solved only if there are competitors for such dealers.

                                TERRIBLE service at Gurudev motors. This is the email I sent to gurudev motors:

                                I had purchased a Skoda Fabia in September 2011, and at the time of purchase, paid close to Rs.11,000 for a remote key. Since the remote key wasn’t available at the time of delivery it was not fixed.

                                I was due for my first service now, and I have been on phone with different Service and Sales people trying to coordinate the fixing of this key when I give it for servicing. After several calls, it was confirmed by Vibuthi that I can bring the car for servicing on the 24th of September, and that it will be delivered to me at the latest by the 25th evening. I reconfirmed this on Friday the 21st.

                                I was not provided a loaner car, and was told that there is no one available to pick up the car. They however promised me delivery of the car. I live in Kelambakkam, and I had to drop the car off at Arumbakkam.

                                I left the car for servicing at 10am Monday morning and was told again, I will get the car by Tuesday evening. This morning I called Vibuthi just to confirm everything was going as planned, and she confirmed the car will be delivered to me this evening, and that she will update me again at 3pm. However, when I called them up at 6pm, Arun tells me it won’t be ready till tomorrow. He tells me this is a pretty technical issue at it usually takes 2 or 3 days, but because I asked for it to be delivered in 1 day, they said yes. How is this a responsible answer?

                                Is this the first time Skoda is ever installing a remote key? Don’t you know by now how long it should take to fix it? If it’s going to take 2 days, shouldn’t you have told me that beforehand? And shouldn’t your service people be giving me updates, instead of me having to call them every time, only to learn my car won’t be delivered to me as promised?

                                Arun tries to tell me I am unreasonable. He says that’s how it is, and that I should understand. How is this my problem? You promised me delivery by today, and you don’t even have the courtesy to call and tell me it will be delayed? And your CRM, Vibuthi doesn’t even answer the phone. When I call her mobile phone, she gives it to Arun to speak to!! How is she a customer relationship manager then?

                                These are the faults as I see in your service, and I want some action taken and response from someone accountable.

                                1. Delay in service, and failure to communicate that to me.
                                2. No co-ordination between your sales and services team. I had to talk to Baskar, Supriya, Vibuthi, Bindu and dozens of other receptionists to get them to even accept that I paid for the remote key almost a year ago.
                                3. Your technician Arun is really rude, and expects me to understand when he says it will be delayed, and that the issue is technical. Unless this is the first time Skoda is installing a remote key, I fail to understand how it might take longer?
                                4. I was not provided a loaner car, and I am going three days without a car. I have spent close to Rs.3000 already on cabs, for no fault of mine.
                                5. Add to this, the amount of time I have spent on phone, the sheer agony of talking to your customer service people who don’t know what customer service is, and trying to explain the issue to 10 different people, none of whom seem to have any responsibility or accountability.

                                I really hope you will acknowledge the receipt of this email, and take some action. I am also formally registering a complaint with the consumer complaint forum, and will pursue it based on the response you provide.

                                  Since purchase of Skoda Rapid car in early Feb the car has been making rattling noise which has not been attended by their Chennai based dealer Gurudev motors so far . Apparently unlike other car dealers they donot connect customers with their service dept . Any call is referred to their customer care dept WHO SURPRISINGLY DONOT CARE FOR THEIR CUSTOMER AT ALL .
                                  Several phone calls have made but always they are TOO BUSY & never called back .
                                  Recently on a long distance highway travel the car has been bouncing to our utter disgust .
                                  I donot know whom should address this complaint .
                                  I would like to return the brand new car & get compensated for the agony caused by SKODA dealer

                                    I have given my car for servicing (front bumper replacement) and they show very poor attitude to take a car for service. I have given the car on 22nd March and till date they did not give a rough estimation and i called them around 10 to 12 times. Today (2nd April) i have been calling them for the estimation for around 5 times and each time they are telling different stories.

                                      I have to say that I have been exploited by the Gurudev Motors, as they make fake promises. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANY OF THE SKODA MAKE CARS" those cars are fit for nothing.

                                      If you are going to buy any SKODA make cars, please read this before you come to judgement.

                                      1. SKODA spare parts are VERY expensive.
                                      2. POOR service and LACK of educated Mechanic.
                                      3. DEALERS are focused towards YOUR MONEY and not the Quality of service they offer.
                                      4. They have only limited service station which in turn results in monopoly of operation.
                                      5. MAINTENCE Cost is too high and it is out of our budget. First service they charge you Rs10,000 Second service will be Rs 25,000 and the Third will be on Rs 45,000.
                                      6. If you enquiry about the Service cost, the dealer will just say it is just Rs 5,000 for the first and Rs6,000 for the second and third. Look at the price it is no way matching with the actual and the fake promise made by the dealers.
                                      7. My suggestion is please get away from the Makers of SKODA.

                                        I feel unfortunate to complaint about the "WONDERFUL" service provided by the Skoda dealer/service center -Gurudev motors in Chennai, India. Everytime we call them, we get answrs which shows their heights of irresponsibility. The car is standing at home for 7 Days and they are still sending someone to fix. Wow!!! Never expected this kind of service from a "So Called" world class company. I will post this on every forum if we dont get a response. poor quality and poor sevice!
