My Name : Sandeep Kumar Singh
Date of Incident : 31 - May - 2022
- Desirable solution - accept my request of closing the account online or mark my account inactive and do not charge account maintainence charges.
I have been using HDFC bank account since last 10 years. Recently I have moved to United Kingdom, i no longer need to maintain HDFC Bank account in India.
I have asked for the account closing procedure and it was told to me that the account can only be closed by visiting to branch and not online.
Since I have no plans to travel to India in coming years, and I am not maintaining minium balance in the HDFC account, I am being charged for the non maintainance of the account balance.
Why I should be charged If I have already deceided to close my account ?
CITI Bank gracefully accepted my request of closing the account online, but HDFC is forcing me to visit to a branch?
This is seriously not acceptable.
I would like my account to be marked as inactive and it should not be charged just becasue I am not using it and I am not maintainaing minimum account balance.
