I applied for a credit card online on the 1st of July 2022 with all income proofs, getting no response, on the 17th of July 2022 I went to the HDFC branch HDFC0001093, and the branch executive told me to open a savings account in order to process the card quickly. They assured me that the card will be delivered within 7 days if I open an account. Hence I opened a savings account on the 17th itself and applied for a credit card. After a few days, they asked me to submit income and KYC documents again.
On the 20th of July 2022, I provided them with my last 3 months' salary slips along with the last 3 months' account details of my ICICI bank salary account.
After sending so many emails, and cooperating fully with banks' regulations and policies the application still shows pending. I am a software developer by profession and my current project deals with developing an IOS application for which I had to purchase an apple MacBook as early as possible.
Seeing such a lethargic and careless attitude of the bank I made up my mind to purchase the product without the discount offered by the bank on apple products, hence on the 8th of August 2022, I wrote an email to the Card department as well as the bank's Nodal officer to request a cancellation of my credit card application as an unused credit limit will impact my CIBIL score.
The only reply that I get is an automated email saying we will update you.
I have been waiting for more than 1 and a half months for any update and this has made me suffer mentally as well as financially as I am unable to make a decision about buying the product due to the unknown status of my card application. I feel this is a very nasty process that the bank follows to lure in the customers and then does not give any weightage to their requests or complaints.
According to Transunion CIBIL, my CIBILscore is 796 and I have an impeccable record of settling my dues on time. Do I deserve to wait for one and a half months to get an update on a credit card application?
I am deeply saddened by the services offered to me and do not wish to have any future association with HDFC as a customer.
