HP India — HP laptop monitor touch screen | |||
Hp Laptop Model 1k7t.by400 was purchased online from HP in United States in Dec 20 Due to reasons beyond control (pandemic) Laptop was brought to India only towards middle of this month. Monitor - touch screen is not working due to manufacturing defect. After purchase only Windows 10 update was attempted but showed continuous error. Extreme care was taken in handling the Laptop. Though picture tube/screen is not working the screen is very smooth when one lays their hands on it - no scratch no breakage, no crack. I lodged a complaint - case No.[protected]. Mr. Kamlesh, Consumer unit was very kind and informed me that I will get a call on 20th Aug. 2021 about Technician's visit to my house to examine the Laptop. No phone call received, and I was continuously following up the matter on daily basis. Ultimately the Technical staff (Mr Prashanth) informed me over phone that no Technical staff will visit my house and repeatedly stated that the warranty covers only parts such as Key board buttons, Battery, software issues, etc. and that Monitor - touch screen is not covered. It is clear that as per policy in United States LCD Glass on the display will have to manufactured to rigorous specifications and standard and should not typically crack or break on its own under normal use. I have never used the Laptop purchased at huge cost even for a single day and it is abundantly clear that Laptop is within warranty period and Monitor is not working primarily due to manufacturing defect. Mr Prashanth your technical staff has further stated that full cost at exhorbitant rate will have to be first paid by me online in advance and also Visiting charges for technician and only thereafter the technician will visit my house. He has on has on his own whims and without even examining physically the Laptop decided to levy huge cost, visiting charges, etc on me for no fault on my part. Monitor is not working primarily due to manufacturing defect and there is no fault on my part.
