Dear Sir / Madam,
I worked with HSBC Data Processing Pvt Ltd, Madhapur, Hyderabad for 7 years. But from October 2012, I experienced erratic monthly periods which lead to Anaemic condition and in July 2013 I was diagnosed with Dysfunctional Uterine Bleading, Endometrium Tuberculosis and Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. As I understood that I cannot continue working with these 2 conditions I decided to leave my job and submitted my resignation around the first week of August. My Manager Mr Charan Subramaniyan arranged for a meeting with one of the Line Managers Mr Benny Anil who offered me the part time option. I decided to take it up as I felt that would probably bring some change in the health condition as I would only be working for less hours and would also be able to continue supporting my family. However, with the monthly period getting worse and painful, I resubmitted my resignation in the first week of September and that was when I was asked to take a month's loss of pay, to which I agreed but later was referred to a company doctor who asked me to go through all the tests again. I was then granted a week's loss of pay instead of a month. My condition only worsened, so I came back and with the help of my line manager Savitha P Nagaaram I spoke to my AVP Mr Venkat Kishore Damodar and requested him to accept my resignation. My request was immediately accepted and I was told by Savitha that I would be relieved at the earliest. I asked her if I had to pay a month's salary, to which she replied, that is not required and that would be taken care of. I had again mentioned that I would be happy to serve the notice period and that I would not be able to pay a month's salary to which she again replied that I needn't pay and that I would only need to pay for those leaves that were taken extra. Even on the last day in the company the HR Manager Mr Kunal Pamnani had advised me the same. And now my immediate HR Manager Sunitha who was absent at the time of leaving says that I have been given wrong information and that the Line Manager Savitha was new to her role and had given wrong information. Now she is asking me to pay a month's salary and has advised me to withdraw the PF and pay. I feel it is unfair to put me through so much trouble and pay the amount especially when I had already given the resignation and also when wrong information was given. I request you to kindly help me resolve this matter as Im being asked to pay from my PF which I feel is unfair. Was this information helpful? |
