[Resolved]  Idea Cellular — legal notice for postpaid connection

This is regarding the mobile number [protected], which i had applied to port from postpaid to prepaid on 13th july, 2017. The issue was raised from idea care center located in kalyani nagar, pune, maharashtra.

The person who was handling my issue asked me to pay a sum of 200 rupees on 13th of july, 2017 and asked me to wait for 4 days without using the sim. I waited for four days without using the postpaid sim, in between idea customer care called me multiple times to inquire why i was porting. After multiple calls came from your side and waiting period i went to idea care, kalyani nagar, pune again on 26th of july, 2017 to ask what was the issue.

Upon reaching there they asked me to pay for the remaining amount which was billed after 20th july, 2017. Also, the idea care person said it was my fault that i paid the bill earlier which they only asked me to pay on 13th july, 2017. Is this the kind of service provided to the customer, as i already paid the bill as asked by idea care person on 13th july, 2017. If there was any bill amount pending you could have asked me to pay on 13th july, 2017 itself. I would have cleared on that same day.

I then approached idea cellular customer care and appellate mh on 29th july, 2017. On this sahil patwegar called me on 31st july 2017, while i stated all the scenario. He apologized for the inconvenience and asked me to approach with this issue to the nearest idea store with a aadhar card xerox and necessary documents for the porting of the number to prepaid. Later, he mailed me the same and also mentioned that i'll have to pay the outstanding amount. Upon this i mailed him back stating i won't be paying any amount as i haven't used any of your services after 13th july, 2017.
He replied stating that the amount will be waived by 3rd august, 2017.

However, in the meantime, the billing cycle was continued and there was an amount shown against my connection for rental charge. They waived the amount but also mentioned that porting is cancelled, as i had to pay outstanding pro rata unbilled amount of 195.88 rs. I told them that i have stopped using the connection and the additional days were taken due to inability from idea store to convert to prepaid. I clearly mentioned that i wont be paying the outstanding amount both on follow up calls and also on mails to customer care. Later the request was put on hold and since then they are following up for payment.

I have sent the emails to customer care executive that i wont be paying the amount and asked to convert my connection to prepaid first. But got no response.

Now, recently i received a mail from idea cellular with subjectline "lok nyaylay intimation! Idea cellular"

Dear customer,

Greetings of the day.

This is to inform, you are requested to attend lok adalat at shivaji nagar court on 14thapr2018 from 10.30 am to 3.00 pm for settlement of your account

As per the agreement signed, you have agreed to pay the outstanding dues of rs.690 for billing account number [protected] / [protected]. However, you have failed to keep your commitment.

Thereafter despite of repeat requests and reminders by our company representatives, you have not paid the said outstanding amount till date.in case of any queries, please get in touch with legal representative on: - saurabh /[protected]

Kindly, advise what could be done in this scenario as the additional charges were occurred due to mistakes and negligence of idea cellular and wrong information provided to me and the inability from respective idea stores to take my request for conversion of the postpaid number to prepaid.
