Idea Cellular Ltd. — Asking to pay money for not used service | |||||
The problem starts with getting another postpaid connection from Idea Cellular service provider. I purchased another postpaid connection of Idea services (70650*****) while keeping in my mind to utilize unlimited calling scheme between idea postpaid numbers. But later I changed my mind. Till that, I never activated that Idea postpaid connection. In fact, I never broke the seal of that postpaid connection ever (i never inserted sim card in my smartphone, never called to idea customer care to verify my identity, address and requested to activate it. I simply purchased it and kept in my cupboard). But unexpectedly I started getting notifications of nonpayment of a mobile bill from Idea Cellular. I really wonder that without verifying my identity, account, and address etc. how can the connection get started? and in addition to that, it's asking me for paying charges for the service which I never used. I verbally complained to Idea customer services and reported about such emails and requested them to kindly update in their system that such number was never activated/used hence mobile bill should not be generated; also I requested them to close that connection several times. Still, I used to get those emails (more than ten times) intimating "postpaid bill for inactivated number." But last time was the most horrible experience for me when I got a call from advocate mentioning there was a notice from Patiala Court against me for not paying the bill of particular postpaid connection. I was literally shocked. It wasn’t less than bombing on me to get notification of the Court for the very first time in my life and that too for "crime" which I never did. I took help of my advocate friend and told him a complete story. I mentioned him about 'unbroken seal of that postpaid connection' then as per his suggestion I came to know that it’s total case of misuse of service by Idea Cellular. He only suggested me that getting emails for such unused connection is illegal and I can go to consumer forum against Idea company for this case. But I didn't want to drag this issue hence I ignored his legal advice. I can’t say it is the case of 'misunderstanding' between Idea cellular and me because I reported several times regarding this issue to customer care still it never stopped getting notifications. " Recently today (on 2nd February 2017) I got SMS that my postpaid account is charged with some amount which is transferred from another account. They transferred unpaid bill of Rs. 839.71 to my current postpaid account without taking my consent. I am totally fed up and mentally harassed because of all this. Why should I pay charges for that service which I never used? Whatever it may lead me to go, I will never pay a single penny to that service which I never used. You will glad to know that ultimately I decided to quit my postpaid connection for sure by the end of this month if this issue didn't get solved. I think your company doesn't deserve such an honest customers like me. And let me intimate you if I got any single call, SMS, an email asking me to pay that bill, I will file a complaint against Idea cellular at consumer court forum. I have all documents and proof to show to consumer court that how your company is repeatedly asking for money for unused services.
