[Resolved]  Idea Cellular — monthly recharge made mandatory for prepaid numbers

I have been having more than rs.20 balance in my idea prepaid number and i suddenly received a message that if i don't recharge my number, the outgoing services will be barred. I called the customer service and they are saying that it has been made mandatory to recharge atleast 35 rupees every 28 days for outgoing services and if not recharged for 90 days the sim will be deactivated. It's ridiculous that they are charging like a postpaid rental. Further i checked the internet to find a news that other service providers were also to bar outgoing in 30 days from last recharge and incoming in 45 days if not recharged monthly. These are all against the trai regulations of 90 days no incoming/outgoing calls or less than 20 rupees balance for deactivation. Many people including me recharge full talktime offers once in 2 or 3 months whenever the balance drains out and this monthly recharge (That too 28 days) is really a hassle. Trai please take action.

I can't understand who gave 1 star review within no seconds after I submitted my grievance. For sure they havent read my complaint and I guess it should be from idea customer service.

I don't want a copy paste answer. You are supposed to send my complaint to upper management. Your monthly recharge requirement for prepaid numbers is against TRAI regulations.
