Promotional voice messages before connecting calls - a new low in marketing.
Recently, i found myself in an unfortunate situation wherein i had to contact
My family urgently. As i waited to hear the familiar beeps that you hear when a call is being connected, i was shocked to listen to an automatically recorded voice message, telling me about the latest offers and plans. It was only after the woman had delivered her message (Which was at least a minute long, at least), was i allowed to hear the traditional ringing of a telephone. Yes, they do not even attempt to connect your call while you're listening to that woman talk about diwali dhamakas. No no no. You're only allowed to inform your family that you're stranded with a flat tyre on a dark road after you listen to the whole message. It's the same thing all the time and it's being going on for a few days. Does this compay realise that it is a mobile service provider and the responsibilities that come with being one? People use their mobile phones to make emergency calls all the time. If god forsake somebody dies because they had to listen to that woman yap about for a minute about diwali dhamaka, their blood will be on your hands. And one of these days it is going to happen. You send us 5 promotional messages a day and at least 1 call everyday (3, in case you don't pick up) why then do you need to stoop so low as to have people, possibly in life threatening situations, listen to your message before calling for help? Do you think anybody pays attention to that message, even if they do not have an emergency at their hands? Nobody does. All this outrageous marketing technique achieves is irritated customers who'll soon switch to jio. Was this information helpful? |
