Reopen the vijayapuram sub-post office, chinnasalem,Villapuram Dt.

Respected sir/madam,

I am one of the residents of vijayapuram - a part of chinnasalem city - 606201.

We had a sub-post office in the vijayapuram area on salem main road over 25 years of service with huge people's interest.

Now vijayapuram sub-post office was closed due to management reasons.

now we have only chinnasalem main post office. it is very long to the people of vijayapuram area.

In our economic policy, most of the industries get boomed. eg. railway department. Every small company have a branch in chinnasalem.

In our chinnasalem city, we have 1 engineering college, 15 schools, 2 arts colleges and we are first in sago industry.

so, please involve in this matter, take an action immediately and Reopen the vijayapuram sub-post office, chinnasalem,in Villapuram Dt.

I have sent a packet via speed post from Kolkata GPO to Rourkela
on 21.08.2007 which was to be received on 22.08.2007.
It has not been received still now which brings the question of lack of accountability on the part of INDIA POST.
(The receipt no. is... SP EE[protected]IN)
I would like to have a clarification on this matter....

THE CONSIGNMENT NO EE[protected]IN was booked on 27.09.2007 from Vadodara to Pune...It has not yet been delivered and there is no stsus showing in the sate also...I am not getting any reply from your post office also..In this consignment there was a Deamand draft for my corse fee and I will loose my 1 year in my educational carrier due to this error from your side...Will have to approach consumer court if I do not get any reply...Revert asap......

my passport was dispatched on 17.08.07 vide reg#0958339 from passport office lucknow,but it has not been delivered sofar.
pl locate. it is urgent....

I HAD PURCHASED 2 NOS. NSCs (NATIONAL SAVINGS CERTIFICATE) BEARING SL.NO. 33EE 494080 & 33EE 494081 DATED 19.09.2001 OF Rs. 10000/- EACH, WHICH ARE MATURED ON 19.09.2007. BUT TILL DATE I HAVE NOTHING HEARD FROM INDIAN POSTAL DEPARTMENT.

AS I AM PRESENTLY STAYING AT CHANDRAPURA THERMAL POWER STATION, P.O.: CHANDRAPURA, DIST.: BOKARO, PIN-825303, I HAVE WRITTEN LETTER ON ADVANCE FOR CONFIRMATION TO THE POST MASTER, BARAUNI...

This has reference to parcel no. B-13 sent by my parents from Varanasi on 17.09.2007. The said parcel was delivered at my Mumbai residence on 28.09.07 and was received by my wife.


On opening the parcel, to our utter disbelief, we discovered that more than 50% of the contents of the parcel were missing. Originally the parcel contained (i) two sets of ladies dress material (salwar, suit, dupatta), (ii) two sets of children dresses, and (iii) one silver ornament. The aforesaid items were costing around Rs.2000/- and were insured for the same value.


However on opening the parcel we found only one set of ladies dress material costing around Rs.550/- and one book “All Maharashtra Law Reporter (criminal)”. Other items as mentioned above were missing.


My wife immediately called back the postman and informed him about the missing items. The postman put the entire blame on Varanasi post office and said that the staff there has removed the contents. My wife called the Dahisar-Mumbai post office and spoke to an official over phone to inform him about the whole incident. The said official rejected the claim on the basis that the parcel has already been by us and as such nothing can be done. But sir, I fail to understand that unless a parcel is opened how does one know that the contents are missing. Moreover the parcel was sealed and at cursory glance it seemed to be in proper condition. But on close observation it was evident that the parcel packet has been tampered with. The stitching on the side, which had been opened to steal the contents, was totally different from the ones on the other two sides. Moreover the material that was used to seal the parcel had been removed and the packet was resealed. This was evident from the remains of the original sealing materials that were still there on the packet.


I firmly believe that the said parcel has been opened by one of your employees and the contents have been stolen.


We request you to initiate an enquiry and bring the culprit to book. An early action in the matter will be highly appreciated.
