I've had 4 parcels stolen and missing that were sent out from Florida, New York, Nebraska as well as Birmingham, UK in the past year that were worth $216, $74, $57 and $35.71 (around Rs 29000 in total).
Two of them that were sent by USPS Priority mail without tracking numbers (worth $57 and $35.71) have been missing since 8 months to a year, and the ones from Florida and New York (worth $216 and $74) have been missing since December and January respectively.
Tracking IDs for the last two are - ( LH[protected]US ) ( UA[protected]US )
Each and every attempt at contacting India Post about this has been in vain, because the local post office just shrugs and ignores our inquiry, and they just say, "It'll be here, when it'll get here..." or "if you're accusing us of stealing, then you'll face bad consequences" like it was a threat.
Whereas in reality these parcels have been dispatched from Delhi customs over 4 months ago.
Being here in India for over a year and a half, I've understood that the utter shame of them admitting they've stolen the items is impossible to attain, so this is my futile attempt at trying something else to ensure I at least have a shot at receiving my parcels that I paid with MY HARD EARNED MONEY.
I remember telling my friend that I'll no longer be sending stuff to India because it gets stolen by the Post Office, and BOY WAS I RIGHT.
The officials working the P.O. should be ashamed of themselves and should be reminded as to how big an utter embarrassment they are to this country that is now a mere shell of it's great past.
India Post customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
