India Post — delay in delivery of the item

It has been more than 22days since the bag was despatched from nsh guwahati to nsh itanagar. But there has been no update on the article tracking system since then. Does this mean that the article has not reached the next hub or has lost in transition? Please look into the matter and update the tracking system so that the article can be tracked. I have registered complaint on India post on 4/3/10. Till now complaint is pending. I have contacted customer care service of India post so many times, yesterday they told me that the "ITEM HAS LOST" and they told me to go the the branch where from where I sent for compensation. So I went to talk to them they were irresponsive n were saying that I have to go to head office n ol.
My point is- firstly they didn't delivered the Item and delayed for more dn 48 days now, secondly now they are making me run for the compensation.
So Sir/Madam my humble request to you, kindly look into the matter.
