India Post — item on hold

I sent a parcel from e city, bangalore to kannamangala bangalore through speed post... It usually takes 1 or maximum 2 days to deliver. I have sent the parcels on the same address in the past as well... They were delivered on time. This time they have kept my parcel on hold for 2 days. When i called to customer care they say its because of insufficient address they can not deliver the parcel. They are not willing to call to the receiver as well on the mentioned phone number. This is not done. Why else do we mention the phone number with the address if there is no use.
