India Post — Non-delivery of international mail and poor service | |||
I sent a document by Speed Post consignment number EO[protected]IN on 27 June from Bhubaneswar to Amsterdam. I was told that the courier will take 'three to four days'. On 3 July I filed Complaint Number [protected] as online tracking showed that it was bagged at Kolkata on 29 June. As on 9 July, the online tracking and the complaint position are only updated till 29 June. The packet containing documents for my son's admission has still not been delivered. I have followed up in every forum including ADG International Mail, New Delhi. I have also tweeted to India Post. There is a trail of emails, and the online complaint status as of 20:00 on 9 July 2015 is attached as a pdf. I had requested that in case the packet is lost, I may be kindly informed so that I can resend it. The poor and negligent response has been only repeating the status as of 29 June. Having chosen Speed Post, because of its reliability I am regretting the decision. The apathy is appalling to say the least. Under such a situation, I chose to send the documents again through another agency. I would therefore request that India Speed post is directed to refund the money I have paid to them, 2. the money I spent on sending the courier again 3. the cost of STD ISD telephone calls for following up and to check if it had been delivered and 4. A lump sum for harassment, irresponsible conduct by a service and causing insurmountable tension. The total amount for this is Rs.10, 000.
