I have been offered the book "Treasures of the World" , a complete guide to the UNESCO World Heritage sites withfree offers of a pair of Reebok shoes and Numero Uno Watch.A payment of Rs.2998/ has been sent by me by cheque drawn on Vijaya Bank, New Saraswathipuram branch, Mysore and the cheque though sent by me on 24/03/11 has been encashed only on 06/05.11 to my account with Vijaya Bank.It is 22 days since encashment and I request you to look into the delivery of the book along with the offered gifts.My reference No.in the communication is RDB-474122. and my address is as under.

I just want to report what all i experienced through bagittoday. In December i placed the order for almost 2.20 lac rupees. Only on the condition that if i will recieve my orders on the specific day, only within 4 to 5 days of placing an order.

Their Sales Manager Mr.Rajeev Kapoor came on call and he promised that orders will be delivered within 4 to 5 days. He asked me to place an order for more amount. That is the reason the order was for 2lac 20 thousand rupees.

He (Rajeev Kapoor) told me that i will recieve a call from the verification department and told me to say yes to everything, he told me that i only need to say yes in the verification call from them and he ensured me that i will receive the order on time as i live in Delhi.

When i did not receive the order on time, i called them back again and asked them to pay me my money back. It took almost 5 months to return my money, which with interest and finance charges and late payment fees costed me 26000 rupees.

Also i faced lot of difficulties when i called them back, it really wasted lot of time for me, i wrote an email to their CEO Mr.Salil Kumar and i got the call from their manager today Morning that they will give me the goods sum of Rupees 60000 as compensation as the issue caused me lot of time waste and my credit history with the bank also effected. My credit limit was around 8 lac which has been reduced to 6lac 59thousand now due to the late payments.

Now they are saying that they will give me the goods of 13000 or 14000 as that is the value their department has calculated.

Again they miscommitted because previously their manager did the fake committments and now again their manager told me that i will get the goods of 60000 as compensation and now they are not ready to give that as well.

Generally they should pay me the 26000 and the goods as well as compensation as that has costed me my time and lot of depression.
They are not ready to transfer the money in my credit card and saying that they will give me the goods of 13000 or 14000. I dont really need any goods as indirectly i am paying for the goods.

This is the worst experience i have ever gone through and bagittoday is the worst organisation and no-one should ever purchase anything from them. As they do miscommittments.

Please help me resolving this matter.

I paid the subscription amount under the above offer. Even after ten months and reminders done in every two weeks the said cell phone is not being sent; their customer care centre will always ask for period of two weeks for delivering the same. last month they told me the same has been delivered by Express parcel post and it token ID is : 7-9113. But same has not been reached me till now. But when i called today (24/05/2011) they say that it has not despatched yet and it will take another two time to deliver.

I had placed an order (Order Id [protected]) on 1st Jan 2011. I continously ran after Bag It Today for 3 months for getting my ordered delivered.

Last month they finally sent me a mail saying that refund has been processed. But the mail mentioned nothing about the account to which the refund had been sent. No transaction is reflecting in my account related to this refund.

I have called them plenty of times to tell me the details, but there is no response.

It has been a horrible experience with them.

Hope some authorities look into how these companies cheat their customers.

India Today Book Club (ITBC) - Bag it Today sold there goods by luring me cash prizes. They insisted me to buy there product by offering me the cash prize. They use to call on my mobile or landline phone, then they offer various products to choose and once we choose a product then they offer cash reward along with it and insist us to buy the product. The promised reward is so enticing that I can not ignore the offer.
I received several calls from ITBC executives to insist me for to buy the product. So finally I give up on 21th March, 2011 and made first Two purchase of ANAIRA DIAMONDS (WITH FREE GIFT AS PHILLIPS HOME THEATRE) for Rs 20,499=00 each and paid by AXISBANK credit card through there secure telephone payment system (as they said) because the executive has been promised me that I will get rewarded of Rs.10 LAKHS CASH PRICE. It was so sweet and sour deal. The executive has been provided booking ID number [protected] and [protected] and before finish the talk he said that I will receive a call for prize confirmation. So, very next day I received a call from ITBC executive and confirmed that you have been rewarded Rs 10 LAKHS,
On 23rd March, 2011 I was received a call around 13 hours from ITBC executive to insist me to buy a Blackberry Bold 9530 mobile phone for Rs. 24,999=00 along with Aniara Diamonds and he said that if I made it this purchase then he will give me a guaranteed reward of Rs. 5 Lakhs cash price, now i thought how is it possible few days ago i was being nominated for award price of Rs.10 lakhs and now Rs. 5 lakhs i raised the important question with the calling executive. He replied that India today presents many contests of prices for their customers and I am lucky to get nominated for two prices he confirmed me that i am on 3rd stage of contest and soon i will receive the documents of confirmation at my residence address, I was thrilled with such results and i agreed to buy above requested products.. So, I paid up without any explanation. Its Booking ID was [protected].
I have received one more call on 24th March 2011 from ITBC and insist me to buy one more Philips home theatre along with Aniara Diamonds for Rs. 20,499=00 and he said it is final amount to be paid for all the contest prices and they provided me booking ids also so, I paid up without any hesitation. Its Booking ID was [protected].
Within few days of every purchase, ITBC sales executive again and again called up to lure me higher amounts of prizes and insist me to buy the products! So, step by step they made me to buy 7 more products by offering cash prizes. The products were Blackberry 9530 storm, philips home theatre, blackberry pearl, Aniara Diamonds, etc. Those promised rewards are so enticing that I could not stop to buy those 7 products worth for Rs. 1,55,493=00 (One lakh fifty five thousand four hunderd and ninty three) because they said that I have won a cash prize of Rs.15,00,000=00 (Fifteen lakhs ). I paid all those payment by credit card through there secure telephone payment system. I was receiving all the booked products on time so I don’t feel any suspicious in this.
On 27th March, 2011, I have received a call from Mr. Rohit, who himself introduced as a Sr. ITBC executives from the upper department that, “I have won a cash prize cheque amounted to Rs.10 Lakhs. He also stated that I have to pay the taxes of the winning amount. After paying, I will receive the cash and its locking ID details. I said that in my knowledge Tax is paid at the time of receiving i.e. TDS how he can ask for Tax till the time i have not recieved Cash price than he said it is our policies and bla bla, so i said you deduct that amount when i will receive the cash price after some discussion he agreed. Finally they provided one locking id, which he said that I need this to receive the cash price at the function and stated it is necessary to receive the prize. He also said that te function which may held at Delhi or Bangalore, on 28th April, 2011 and I will be receive five star hotel stay and air tickets for the entire family to attend the function.

Again, on 31st March, 2011 Mr. Kamaljeet singh called , who himself introduced as a Sr. ITBC executives from upper department called up and confirmed that the cash prize amounted Rs.10 Lakhs and will be received at the function which is now held at Delhi on 15th May 2011. He clearly said that I will receive winning amount at the function only. He said that to attend the function I will receive the five star hotel stay and air tickets for the entire family very soon.

In between I was writing them by e-mails regarding various developments at [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com, [protected]@bagittoday.com, [protected]@bagittoday.com and asked them for the details but I am in vain. After all those purchases they revealed in there e-mail that there is no such confirmation that I won any cash prize. They are running online portal at http://www.bagittoday.com & http://www.indiatodaybookclub.com. Now, whenever I write them they are requesting me for the further enquire at:- [protected]@bagittoday.com or [protected]@bagittoday.com or inform me to call us on there Helpline Number[protected], 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and all 7 days).
I have received all the calls for the above said from: -

So far I have made purchases worth Rs.1,55,493/- through the credit cards. I have received all the products along with Invoice *** delivery note. In some products I have not received any Octroi slip. I feel they may have been evaded Maharashtra Octroi also! I have a doubt whether they may not paid other taxes also.
This is a trap to lure buyers with the offering huge prizes. So, this is all a BIG cheating! I am in big financial loss. I came to know that I was duped by some trickster. I lost my money + valuable time + mental agony!
NATURE OF COMPLAINT:
1. False representation : Their intension is to sell there products by offering promises of the prizes. (They made me to buy by luring prizes).
2. Cheating by giving false promises – There sales team convinced me to buy those unwanted products worth Rs. 1,55,493 by saying and offering a cash price of Rs.15 Lakhs, which they have not provided.
3. Not abiding by warranty clause – Most of the products are refurbished/unlocked. Like Blackberry mobiles phones are with At&T tag and At&T is used in western countries only. All the above stated products are without any Guarantee or warranty of its any kind.
4. Anaira Diamonds given to me is showing MRP of Rs. 30000/- per 0.30 Cents but i took the valuation of product it is hardly Rs. 4000/- per 0.30 Cents which is again wrong information and price quoting my sales representative.
4. Any other factors that affected the consumer – Since I have been paid through Credit cards to buy above said and they haven’t provided any proper answer. Neither, they have been provided the above said winning amount and the interest is mounted very high. Its very difficult to repay. So, I have been borrowed a loan on very high interests. I want the offered assured money with the appropriate interest.

My bad luck that i received a mail from Bag It Today for a Calvin Klein watch. I feel it was my Stupidity that i fell for that mail and booked the order:

Immediately after booking i received a call from BIT and they told that i will receive the order in 21days,
Now i am standing at 36th day and there is NO confirmation from Bag It Today regarding the dispatch of my order.
Also it is a waste of time calling those people, they don't have any answer to your questions, they don't want to connect to any of their managers(i doubt if they have any) only answer i got is "IF YOU WANT WE WILL REVERSE THE ORDER AND PAY BACK YOUR MONEY"........ If i would have been worried about the 4000/-Rs then i never would have placed an order on u Bag It Today.
If i am not getting my watch soon then i will be filing a Fraud case on Bag It Today....What a waste of time and utter waste of energy speaking to people in bag it today.

Today i got 20 calls from baggittoday telling me that i have won diamonds worth 60,000 and a blackberry pearl mobile. and i can get all these at the cost of 18999.i liked the offer since it was from india today group and i paid the money through my credit card. I the order reference was [protected] . i was again called some 20 more times offering more diamonds worth 60,000. thankfully i had come back to my senses and i refused the offer. after which i came online and read these stories. i promptly tried to cancel my order . a person by name Amit called me and tried to convince about bagittoday reputation etc.. and even gave his cell number [protected]- i tried calling this number soon after and no one is picking up !
since i refused to fall to his tricks, i insisted on a refund. the call was promptly disconnected without telling me the day on which the refund will come to my account.
I am logging this complaint through this forum and if i dont receive refund in next 3 days, i will lodge a police complaint to bring this people to face their fraud.and will approach news channel for this fraudster many people has been duped by bagittoday.
Beware of bagittoday! dont fall for india today name.. please be very careful in making purchases!

This was my FIRST TEST transaction with the company & it FAILED MISERABLY. I placed an order for sunglasses worth 399 rs & paid via credit card. I tried to play safe as it was the first order with them . Than God i didn't order something big. Well the order was placed in the month of jan & till date despite numerous calls & fights over phone neither have i received my order nor my money refunded back. I am attaching the screenshots of my order. Every time i get across a new customer care executive & they have set repeatition of words to say to me. They cannot till date are able to track my order packet. Even had a word with their supervisor. She assured me that mam please trust us & give me a week chance I shall myself call you. After that no call from them , in fact i have called after that 3 times. Then once they said the money would be refunded & within 24 hrs i shall receive the amil wrt the same.This 24 hrs have not ended since May 9th.

I simply want them to be penalised for all my time wastage & all my phone calls & my amount i paid for the order.

I have been duped into the fraud and looted by BagItToday. I was shipped a sub-standard product with poor workmanship and manufactured by a local agency. The shoe looks very poorly designed and is not the one shown at the time of purchase. I request all consumers to avoid any purchase on this fraud website. In lure of discounts, they offer counterfeit/fake products.

On Feb 23, 2011 I received offer through mail from Bagittoday that A Converse Premium Watch may be availed for absolutely free.When i checked for detail i found they are charging Rs.399 as packaging and delivery charge.I was apprehensive at first but since it was from india today group ,I paid the money through my credit card on 26 th February 2011.The order Id was- [protected].There after for two three weeks I received sms that product will be delivered within 48 Hrs but it was never delivered.From March first week onwards I started following up with Bagittoday .Every time I called up their call centre or through mail , the set answer was it will take another 2-3 weeks to deliver the product.I simply fedup with their bluff and ask for refund of my money on 9th May 2011.When I called up again today they again bluffed and stated that by 30 th May I may get the refund.Almost three months have passed since I paid money and till today I have received neither the product nor the refund of booking amount.I think Bagittoday is a sham and if its really related to IndiaToday group then its a shame that a reputed company treat customers in this way.Its a warning to Bagittoday to process refund asap or necessary action will be taken by me.

I had ordered diamonds & blackberry storm 9530 mobile phone at Rs 24,999.00 from bag it today, order number Order Id.[protected]. On the second day of placing the order i requested for the cancellation but the company did not cancel the order & they sent me defective blackberry handset without bill & diamonds without the certificate. I checked with the authorized service center of blackberry,they said this model is not made for India & can not be serviced & diamonds are without any certificate so their value is negligible. I asked their customer care representative about this, he said reverse delivery will be taken within a week but till today no call has been received. I am ready to courier it back at my own cost, only request is that the company shall refund the money. Many times their representatives make false statements & no senior person from the organisation,if any, talks with the customers. I am fed up with this.its been one & half months since i placed the order. I request for an immediate action.

This is to inform ‘bagittoday’ that such a response is not warranted in a financial transaction that puts the customer through such menagerie when the payment HAS BEEN DONE WITHOUT ANY DELAY WHATSOEVER. Refer ORDER ID: [protected] for amount Rs. 3798.00 [in words: Rupees Three thousand Seven Hundred and ninety eight only] dated 07/04/2011. The payment was done by CREDIT CARD. We do have CARD statements to show for in the consumer court vide the CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT,INDIA 1986.

The customer has had enough of the harassment since FIVE phone calls to the customer support and 4 different mails has yielded no results whatsoever.

‘Bagittoday’ is GUILTY on the following grounds:
1. It was promised in writing by bagittoday that the order would reach the customer by 28/04/2011 i.e. 2 to 3 weeks.
2. No technical error was mentioned whatsoever in any of the RECORDED phone calls by your people when asked about the status.
3. The customer was misleaded everytime an enquiry was made and apart from the phone conversations nothing was given in writing as to when and if the item would be delivered.

As on date, the customer requires the order to be cancelled and the usury be paid on Rs.3798.00 [in words: Rupees Three thousand Seven Hundred and ninety eight only] with INTEREST as per current rates which is 7.5% along with compensation for the telephone charges and the mental agony of waiting so long; failing which ‘bagittoday’ will have to pay heavy compensation and may even face court charges vide the CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT, INDIA 1986.

One of my colleague given my reference to BAGITTODAY for booking “Affordable Holidays” and I received the call from call centre of BAGITTODAY on 23/03/2011 for the same.. I booked THREE in the name of mine and relatives @ Rs.7000/- each.

Subsequently, I received the calls from BAGITTODAY on the same day i.e. 23/03/2011 and they offered me to purchase BlackBerry Mobile & Diamond @ Rs.24999/-. I purchased TWO sets of Mobile and Diamond with assurance that the cost of Diamond in the open market is Rs.30,000/- and I will get the Rs.30,000/- if I sold it into the market.

Respected Sir, I received many calls from BAGITTODAY and they assured that I have won the prize of Rs.20 LAKH. For this, I purchased the products from BAGITTODAY worth Rs.2,60,990/- with impression that a company of TV TODAY NETWORK group can not cheat the people. The details of calls received after 23/03/2011 and discussion held over phone are as under:

1. On 24/03/2011 I received many calls from BAGITTODAY and they informed that I can win the prize of Rs.5 lakh to Rs.10 Lakh, if I purchase the product worth Rs.49,998/- (two transactions of Rs.24,999/-). They also informed that a team of AAJ-TAK (News Channel) will come into my address and they will take my interview and also give the prize of Rs.5 lakh to Rs.10 Lakh on 25/04/2011. Accordingly, I made TWO transitions of Rs.24,999/-. On The same day, they confirmed that my name is finalized for prize of Rs.5/- lakh and will be given on 25/04/2011.

2. On the same day i.e. 24/03/2011, I again received calls and they informed me that I can win the prize of Rs.10 lakh to Rs.15 lakh if make a transaction of Rs.24,999/-. Before making this transaction, I requested several times them to send the confirmation regarding the prize of Rs.5 lakh which I have won earlier. Mr. Raj always told me that “No need to worry about the prize as you are dealing with BAGITTODAY which is subsidiary of India Today group.” Accordingly, I again make the transaction of Rs.24,999/- and on the same day they also confirmed me that my name has approved for the prize of Rs.10 lakh.

I again received the call on 24/03/2011 vide which they informed me that I will be in top amongst other customers who paid the highest amount in the closing month of FY 2010-11 if I purchase the product of Rs20,999/- again. They also assured that Rs.20 lakh to Rs.25 lakh prize will be given on 25/04/2011 if I maintain 1st position amongst other customers who purchased products from BAGITTODAY in the month of March (closing month of FY 2010-11). For this, they informed me that I have to make a transactions of Rs.20,299/- then only I will be in 1st position amongst other customers in the closing month of FY 2010-11. Before making this transaction, I again requested several times them to send me the confirmation regarding the prize of Rs.10 lakh which I have won earlier. Mr. Raj replied me in same line again that “No need to worry about the prize as you are dealing with BAGITTODAY which is subsidiary of India Today group.” Accordingly, I made one more transaction of Rs.20,299/- on 24/03/2011. On the same day, I have been informed over phone that my name has been finalized for prize of Rs.20 LAKH and it will be given to me on 25/04/2011 and will be telecast in AAJ-TAK News channel also.

3. On 29/03/2011, I received calls again vide which they asked me to make TWO more transactions of Rs.24,999/- so that Income Tax which will be deducted on Rs.20 lakh may be saved. They also informed that I have to make the payment of Rs.49,998/- otherwise I will not be eligible for prize of Rs.20 lakh. However, they also told me that they will give two more sets of Mobile & Diamond in lieu of making payment of Rs.49,998/- and I will be given full amount of Rs.20 lakh (No tax will be deducted). I only make a transaction of Rs.24,999/- on 29/03/2011

4. In first week of April, they called me and informed that the prize will be given on 15/05/2011 instead of 25/04/2011 as one of the prize Winner’s father has died.

From 30/03/2011 onwards, continuously I am following up with Mr Raj (Mob No.-[protected]), Mr. Meghraj ([protected]), Mr Amit ([protected]) & Mr Kabir ([protected]) to send me the documents regarding the prize of Rs.20 lakh.

On 29/04/2011, Mr Raj pickup my phone and told me that his mobile was switched off as he was out of India. He again told me that you have to make one transaction of Rs.18,999/- then only they will dispatched the documents regarding prize of Rs.20 lakh. He also informed that this amount i.e. Rs.18,999/- will be returned me on 15/05/2011 and they also given me the details of cheque of Rs.18,999/- of HDFC Bank, District Centre, Janajpuri, New Delhi, which is to be returned me on 15/05/2011. Again, I have made a transaction of Rs.18,999/- on 29/04/2011. Here I have been cheated as they have sent me a BlackBerry Mobile and Diamond again. Now, they have stopped receiving my calls.

The details of transaction made by me are as under:

In this regard, it is to be submitted that I have paid total amount of Rs.2,60,990/- just because the BAGITTODAY is group company of TV TODAY NETWORK and no body can imagine that they will be cheated from such reputed company. I also tried to sale the Diamond in Jewelry Shop but no body is ready to purchase these Diamonds on the given rates instead they are giving price of Rs.5,000/- for a set containing 3 Diamonds.

Sir, I have paid the amount of Rs.2,60,990/-. Keeping in view of the above facts, you are requested to kindly intervene in the matter and do the justice.

I Generally Buy things online and i was very satisfied with the experience of buying things online till the time i ordered this thing from Bag It Today website.
It was the worst expereince till now. I booked a Blackberry 8830 Mobile through the website on 29th March 2011. The amount was charged in my credit card on the same day within 5 minutes of the Order. It was said that i will receive a confirmation SMS or a mail which i had not received. I called the customer care number which is [protected] and i told them about the same. They said that your request is in Process you will receive the details in 48 Hours. I called them after 3 Days becuase till then i had not erceive any details about it. They again asked me to wait for 2-3 Days. They also asked me to send a Scan copy of the Bill. I had sent almost 5 Mails and then I received the Booking Id(11th April) after 12 Days, then they said in total it takes 21 Days for the delivery, 9 Days were left so they said you just have to wait for 9 Days. I called on 18th Day and asked if the Mobile is dispatched. It was still not dispatched becuase of some reason. It was the worst senario because even they were not aware why its not Dispatched?????????

I called again after 5 Days(25th April) this was almost 15th call in 27 Days and they still asked me to wait for 2 days for the confirmation. After waiting for 30 Days they Mailed me that your Booking is confirmed and we will dispatch the mobile in ASAP. After waiting for such a long time I received a message on 36th Day that the mobile is dispacthed. And here is the best thing I expected since 40 Days. Wowwww!!!! I received a Second Hand Mobile!!!! Bloody Hell.... This is the worst thing I would ever expect from anyone. Then AGain I spoke to the cust care. They said "I am sorry about this, please send the mobile back to delhi, we will send a new peace when we receive the mobile. What the ****????


When I asked him when will I receive my New Mobile they said it will take 21 Days from the time we receive the Second hand Mobile which I received!!! Belive me if that person would be next to me I would have ******!!! I dont want the mobile Anymore. I want the Money and the Corrier Charges as well. Now Finally today(11th May) I have sent the Mobile back to Delhi.
Where am I right now? Square 1??? How pathetic. Please dont buy anything from this website and this compnay.
