Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation [IRCTC] — Auto confirmation of tickets in berths not preferred by traveller | |||||
Hi IRCTC, Recently I have booked tatkal tickets for my parents with PNR number:[protected]. I have preferred Lower Berth(LB) for both of my parents, but the confirmation was done for Upper berth(UB) and Side upper(SU). My parents have severe knee ache and they cannot travel in upper berths. Eventually I had to cancel the tickets and no refund is provided because it is confirmed tatkal ticket. I understand the rules of IRCTC, but before confirming the tickets and deducting my money, I would appreciate IRCTC to prompt for my confirmation and my willingness to take the Berths which IRCTC provides, if it cannot provide berths of my prederence. I feel disheartened and lost hope in the service of IRCTC as it is forcing people to take the auto confirmed berths and also deducting money.
