Ticket not booked but amount debited

I booked two tickets from Thane to Mangalore using the SBI debit cum atm card, however after booking the tickets, though the amount got debited, the tickets were not booked. I have sent mails to SBI and IRCTC, however i have not received any reply from them.
What should be the future course of action?...

Dear Sir,
I have tried to book ticket by IRCTC Web from BDTS to Jodhpur in Ranakpur EXp . on 29th may 08 for 30th May.
After make payment there was connection error & I dont got my ticket. When I checked My A/C balance they have deducted money Rs.2697 without giving ticket. I call IRCTC Help line they told me to wait for two days. On 1st June when I checked my statement there was another deduction on Rs.2697 on 30th May08.
On 2nd June they deposited Rs.2697 which was deducted on 29th May. But still I am waiting for RS.2697 which was deducted on 30th May08 without any transaction.

I booked ticket through IRCTC, money has been deducted from my CITI bank account but Ticket was not generated.
After showing me the transaction ID it ddid not go to next page and I could not seen this ticket in my booked ticket. My order no for this ticket is [protected] and Bank refrence no is 151762.

I booked a ticket through IRCTC on 18th Dec 2008 to travel from KMC to MMR (Train Number – 7064, Train Name – Ajantha Express), my ticket was not booked in first attempt, the amount has been deducted from my account Rs. 2483. I booked a ticket through IRCTC on 19th May 2009 to travel from Pune to Solapur (Train Number – 2157, Train Name – Hutatma Express), my ticket was not booked in first attempt, the amount has been deducted from my SBI account Rs. 101. I have tried to book ticket through IRCTC for going to Malda from Sealdha on 10th June 2009 for 26th June on Gour Exp.After a make payment there was a page error occurred and when I asked my bank(HDFC) and they said that the money (308 Rs)is deducted from my account.after that again I used my credit card for booking same ticket same problem is arrived again. Deduction of Money without booking of ticket
Dear Sir,
I have tried to book ticket by IRCTC Web from Yeswanthpur to Kacheguda in Wainganga Exp. on 24th June 08 for 30th June.
After make payment there was connection error & I dont got my ticket, and i done another Transaction.then, Same problem will occur. When I checked My A/C balance they have deducted money Rs.277& Rs.277 Two times means Total Rs.554, without giving ticket.

Deduction of Money without booking of ticket
Dear Sir,
I have tried to book ticket by IRCTC Web from Hubli to Yeswanthpur in Yeshwanthpur Sampark Kranti Exp. on 17th Dec 09 for 24th Dec 09 & 25th Dec 09.
After a make payment there was a page error occurred and when I asked my bank(Syndicate) and they said that the money (416 Rs& 213 Rs)is deducted from my account. So total deduction is 674 Rs.My Transaction Id is [protected] and [protected].Please tell me how can i refund my money...

Cancellation amount not refunded

Dear sir,

i tried booking a ticket on IRCTC for patna pune express on 15th april but some error came up after the machine started processing my request. But a sum total of RS.1453 was debited from my account even though the booking did not take place. How can i get my money back?

IRCTC — Deduction of money without booking the ticket

I tried to book a ticket through irctc from Bargarh to Ahemadabad on[protected] but the process could not be completed because of network failure. When the next day i tried to withdraw money from the atm it reverted a message of insufficient balance. Money was deducted but ticket was not booked. So i request a speedy disposal. i have booked a ticket on 29th october (i.e.today) for 3 passengers with 2 lower and a middle birth from chennai to bangalore on journey date 26th nov,2011 and opted for atleast one lower birth to be allocated. but after all the payment transaction is over ,i got a message that my account has been credited by 599 , but after that the site asked me that tickets dint get booked as a lower birth wasn't avaliable. and the money already got deducted from my account. please get me the response as soon as possible.i[censored] request i still have that message in my mobile.

IRCTC — money deducted without booking a ticket

when i was booking my ticket from bettiah to anand vihar terminal train no. 12557 a/c 3 tier date-15/01/2013 money from my SBI ATM CUM DEBIT CARD NO.[protected] amount of RS.963 was deducted from my acount.but there was no any ticket recieved on my mobile no. or on my email adress.

    I had booked the railway E-ticket thru IRCTC as per details given below. On the date of journey i.e.[protected], we had boarded the train. TTE came to coach 15 minute before departure of the Train and informed us that train will not go to Kota because of the "GURJAR AGITATION in RAJASTHAN". The TTE asked us to get down from the the Train.

    From- H. Nizamuddin to Kota

    I sent an E-mail to IRCTC at [protected]@irctc.co.in with above details and requested to refund the entire amount . IRCTC replied that money will be refunded by Railway with in 90 days or more. Why so much time when we have paid cash amount. Please help and arrange to refund whole amount.

    Reply received from IRCTC is as under:-

    Dear Customer,

    Thanks for interest in our online reservation.

    Kindly note that an E ticket cancellation done up to the chart preparation, after making chart e-ticket cancellation not allowed. In this case we forwarded to railways for the TDR process. Railways check all the matters and. Kindly note that e-ticket cancellation can be decide what amount should be refund and this all process will take 90 days or more. Once the railways refunded your amount, we will credited to your same account.

    i am unable to file TDR.. Whenever i try to file TDR. the system asks for PNR.. and after filling PNR i get no link to fill and submit any detail


    IRCTC emailed me that
    1. Login to irctc.co.in
    2. Click on File TDR link under "My transactions" and select the PNR no.
    3. Fill the required details and click on submit button.

      With reference to the above, I have booked on 12.05.08 e-ticket in Indian RAilways (IRCTC) from KADUR TO BANGALORE (YESVANTPUR)travelled on 25.05.08 same has not appearing in my booked eticket history nor i am not able to cancell.

      Now i have to cancell my ticket what do now.

      I fact i have called so many times and i have sent a emial twice to customer care one MS.Kadambari to help in this reagard but she has not responded properly to my request nor they are not bothered to replay.
      So i am unhappy about this service.
      Please help in this regard.

      DURG(DURG) because some social issue all the trains are canceled .My
      previous train NIZAMUDDIN EXP train no .2415 is also cancelled here,
      thats why i am unable to reach kota .So I want to cancel my ticket .

        Dear All!
        This for yours kind information regarding Users facing problem in e-ticket booking.

        When I choose option of compulsory lower berth then I paid money from my account. Amount is deducted from my account but couldn’t reserved ticket.
        As per customer care it will take 3 working days money to return back.

        After three days I won’t get any seat to reserve on same train & money is blocked for three days.

        If you could make that First e-ticket will check the availability of lower berth option & then go to payment mode, then we won’t face any problem.

        Respected sir,
        Iam registered user having my user id :vipvijay1 and frequently booking tickest through online
        I am a CPSU officer and have MTNL 2MBps speed internet connection and using latest version of Laptop
        No issues neither with my net connection nor with my PC still I am unable to get login upto 1 hour after 10 AM and even sometimes get login befor reaching payment Gateway it is coming out saying that server busy and or net connection issue try after some time.
        Sir, earlier I use to book ticket in 10 to 15 min time but now a days it it is not possible even to log in and there is no display of trains and such is the situation
        I tried the customer care no. [protected] she says tickets are being booked no server issue even then pl. give your feed back or write mail to [protected]@irctc.co.in
        Sir I asked the login attempts allowed in peak time she says 3.5 Lac login at a time allowed how can you justify this 3.5 lac attempts for 100 crore people.
        In that 100 crores nearly crores of login attempts may be expected in peak hours but irctc can, t give us better service, though nowdays it is claiming that 2000 tickets are being booked in one minute.
        I am frustrated for the last 2 days of trying and when I get login after 1145 all the seats from CSTM to SUR are sold and WL seats are available and if I gor through tout/Agent I get confirmed ticket by paying extra money prescribed by them
        This amounts to corruption and in the era of Internet people are made to stand in Que or made to approach Tout to get the tickets
        Sir in my native place Bagalkot(Karnatak) only 4 persons wrre there in line but the booking clerk simply books the tickets of his choice after getting call from Gujarati/Marwari people in that area and like me people will stand in Que but even at 10 AM only 2 persons were there in line but my turn will come after 1 hour, he books ticket to those community and charges extra money.
        I went to lodge complaint to Station Manager but he himself is not sitting in his chair
        It is total mess and needs surprise checks, how the booking clerk books tickets if no person is in Que and make us to wait for hours?being
        In Mumbai it is the server problem and if I go to counter it will take 3 to 4 hours to get my turn to come to booking counter in the mean time all the tickets are sold
        If I approach tout I will get the ticket, You may verify by standing in CST station and some people simply move and they will approach side by us to counter and hand over one chit to booking clerk and ticket is booked for those persons and like me we will stand in Que of no use.
        Vigilance angle investigation and surprise checks are required pl
        Secondly Server up-gradation is must and we should get tickets by simple click

          Respected Sir,
          I would like to get your kind attention on the problems faced by the general public who use Internet Booking facility to book their ticket for their journey on www.irctc.co.in.IRCTC web service is a disaster. You would reach peak of your frustration booking tickets online. This low cost server always throws a message 'Unable to retrieve due to communication failure' whenever you search for station codes, check train no.s, check availability you name it.i was booking my ticket yesterday through irctc.co.i completed all process and payment gateways charged the payment but didn't issue me ticket.i got the message from irctc "sorry for Unable to retrieve your ticket due to communication failure' and i lost the Rs 60/-for this hell sorry word. just i want to ask who will return these Rs 60/- it is very painfull losing your Rs. without any cause . i woud like suggest in this condition, if custumer is not getting booked ticket the irctc should refund total money without make any charges.
          so i request to you sir please look forword this matter and make some rule and regulation regard this problem. so that general public can save their money and time.

I was pissed off from him an getting late for work i did pay that fine but an passenger were witness an my colleges aslo who commute daily with me from asr to jall cantt. Anyway Sir when i asked his name he was so rude me with and said to me I am Sukhjeet Singh do whatever you want to do. Now I want you to take seriously action so that i can reembursment asap. this is receipet no 909728 train no: 2460 tkt GC no : 06776. Actually i have my monthly pass and you can check my details i had it from amritsar railway station on 02dec2009 around 5.58 am.

          I have tried to book 2 tickets in the name of myself P.Uma maheswara rao and my relative Shri B.SURYA PRASAD FOR GODAVARI (2727) IN 3 TIER AC YESTERDAY i.e., 18.06.09 through my STATE BANK OF INDIA DEBIT CARD AT AROUND 10.34 AM and while it has acceped all the fields at the end it said that the ticket was not booked for the reason, " Bankers not in reach and transaction not accepted". Having thought, that the ticket was not booked, I have again tried for another time immediately, and fed all the information including the debit card details and this time also it was shown the same reason and regreted for not booked..

          Having felt that this time also not got through, probably for the reason there is some wrong with the SBI DEBIT CARD, I have changed the debit card and tried another time without loss of time for booking the tickets in the same name ofcourse, by feeding CITI BANK CREDIT CARD in the same train and this time also the internet advised "that the tickets are not booked for the bankers not accepted the transaction.".

          Having fed up with this nature of non acceptance, then i have sent my attender to the Railway station and as by the time the tickets in the Godavari train (2727) are over, we had to book tickets for the Garib Radh Express(2739) in the 3 tier AC to go to HYDERABAD with PNR [protected] at the MVP COLONY VISAKHAPATNAM RAILWAY TICKET COUNTER.

          While the things are so, to my consternation, when I opened my mail in the night (18.06.09), I find 3 messages are the inbox stating that 3 tickets have been booked in Godavari train (2727) on the strengh of State Bank Debit card and also on CITI BANK CREDIT CARD in the same names and all the tickets are confirmed. I was perplexed and contacted the railway authorities in the night itself, and after prolonged discussion, they advised that I should contact you and detail the matter.. You would agree, that no prudent person book tickets in the same name, in the same train on the same date for making the journey.. Apparently, it was the mistake of the railway on line internet and displayed wrong message and caused booking of tickets again and again .

          This is to bring to your notice regarding the cancellation of reserved ticket. I have booked a ticket for 3 person from vadodara to mumbai now i want to cancel the ticket but when i went to cancel the ticket the railway department is deducting Rs.40/- per person then I went through the rules of refund for reserved tickets(www.inidanrail.gov.in) I have found that in rules of refund its purely writen as
          (a) If a ticket is presented for cancellation more than 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train cancellation charge shall be deducted at the flat rate of Rs. 70/- for A.C First Class/Executive Class, Rs. 60/- for A.C. 2 Tier sleeper class/ A.C. 3 Tier sleeper class/ First class/A.C Chair Car, Rs. 40/- for Sleeper class and Rs. 20/- for Second class.

          Can some body explain me the definition of Flat rate. as per my knowledge flat rate means on an unit i.e. on a ticket not per person

          I request you and your department not to take cancellation charge for per person it should be per ticket so for second sleeper it should come be Rs.40/- per ticket because at the same time it is offered to another passenger and the reservation charges is paid by him also.

            Dearest Sir/Madam,

            This has a reference to the ticket bearing a PNR no [protected].

            1. 36 hours, I guess, you have the same 60 seconds in a minute, which the world follows, Oops... I forgot that you are again a Government of India Enterprise. The booked ticket took more than 72 Hours (received at 20:30 Hrs on 13th May 2008) to reach the destination, again with a havoc.
            2. I do not understand, when you charge for the services, why do you take things for granted. I booked with you, because you said the tickets will be delivered at home. But I am really very sorry to state that, I was asked to collect the ticket from the courier office. Do you think that, if I have a time to collect the ticket, then why can't I book the tickets with the Reservation counters...
            3. I spent more than Rs. 200/- to collect the tickets, when the courier people harassed after calling me on my mobile amidst the meeting (which I was attending), saying, if you want the ticket you have to come to the office... It was my father's ticket, so I had no other option. There are companies, which create a situation, wherein you have no other option but to go.
            4. After you charged for the door delivery and your PARTNER courier company (I guess you pay them...) failed to deliver the courier...

              Session expired after making payment - No ticket booked -- bank acnt debited
              I faced a problem while booking a ticket now on irctc.co.in TRANSACTION ID/BIL/[protected] from GORAKHPUR (GKP) to RAXUAL (RXL) for 8th JUN 2008 in (5274) SATYAGRAHI Express. After entering the details of the two passengers, I made the payment using SBI debit card. After making the payment I got the computers screen freez.

              I checked my SBI bank transactions and I have seen a payment of 735/- debited from my account. However when I saw in booked histry of tickets no ticket was alloted to me, then isaw in transaction failed report the status was process requested in place of failed and comment was "PAYMENT NOT RECEIVED FROM THE BANK"

              Please advise what to be done since I have made a payment and there is no booking done by the website.

                I am customer having regular practices of purchasing the product online and I have very good experience with lots of websites all over the world. There are few of the website across the world running who are serving millions of people in a day with their services and running without single problem and for that they are accepting best resources and valuable caring department in backend of the website.

                While if you try to use the IRCTC who is providing online railway ticket booking in India is having the most poor resources and having bulk of accessing bugs during site usages.

                If you are expecting the services from irctc.co.in then my dear friends forget this dream. Irctc.co.in will never make it possible. As it is running through department of Indian government.

                yes.i agree with u. i m also the regular user of this site for reservation of rail tickets. in most of the time either server is down on account of one or other reason. especially in morning time between 8am-9am so that tatkal tickets on very first day filled and user of this site has no option to go for waiting tatkal tickets.

                  Attached pl find three files regarding booking of i-tickets from LTT to TVC today morning at 8.30. The tatkal ticket booking went very smoothly and the transaction was successfully concluded by debiting my account (see 1*).
                  However, the next screen (see 2**) advised me that the transaction could not be completed due to reasons unknown. However, on checking with ''failed booking', it was due to non receipt of funds from bank, although the bank has already been debited. The end result I am not given a booking as the PNR shows 0.                     IRCTC I-TICKET Bad experience — Ticket not received from IRCTC

                    Its almost 100hrs by now. Booked my I-ticket on 04th June 08 till now(9th) I did get my train ticket planned to travel from Chenni to Hyderabad. The people/phones at IRCTC call center neither busy or not responding. Also people at overnight express gave a consignment number too, but not delivered at our door step.

                    Its really disgusting situation.

                    i do like to bring your notice on to the complaint that, me tried to book the ticket in irctc but its going fine till the p[ayment but the ticket is not processing please make it fine for me. Its a request from me on regarding this. So please consider it as a prayer and make a fine steps to solve the problem.
                    Typical Indian website. Bull . Everytime you book you can see 2 error messages for sure "Communication failure" and "Network Error". No need to say about the trains... They are of international standardas. Wow !! LOL !!!
                    i booked 2tier 4 tickets frm banglore to mumbai through this portal (irctc.co.in), the seats they provided really amazing. two of my ticket got in the same cabin but the other two where in other part, individually. and i also try to compromise with other passenger, but they did not agreed.

                    now i fell its better to book air tickets as they almost got reduced instead of paying to these buggers where they never maintain things and the quality of the service is zero.

                      I had booked i-ticket on 11.04.08 with the following details:

                      Class: 3A
                      journey: From Delhi to New Jalpaiguri (NJP)

                      While booking the ticket, the computer displayed "time out" at the end. I thought the ticket has not been booked. I didn't checked anything e.g. Booking status etc.

                      With my great surprise, Today i.e. on 01.05.08, i have received the ticket dropped in my resident letter box.

                      My complaint is:

                      - Why the ticked booked on 11.04.08 has not been delived in time ?
                      - The ticket is supposed to be delivered in hand. Why the ticket has not been delivered in hand in stead why dropped in letter box today. My wife always is at home and my children are also available at after 2.30pm
                      - The journey date was on 22.04.08. I have received the ticked on 01.05.08. I should get the full refund because it is none of my fault. The responsibility to deliver in hand at my address lies with irctc. In case they find any problem in delivering, they should have contacted me.

                      irctc ticket — non delivery of ticket on time

                      sir,

                      i have booked a ticket on irtctc on 13.01.2010.my travel date was on 19.01.2010. but when i contacted overnite service my ticket was still in their delhi office and they were not able to deliver the ticket on time for my travel. this was very important journey for me and they told me that they will compensate for the extra money i will pay for ticket.

                      i took a flight from delhi and went to lucknow and i paid Rs. 3800/- for that. now overnite persons are not ready to compenstate for the flight ticket.

                      please do the needful and compernstate for the loss.

                      irctc ticket — No response for mails from IRCTC. Hence I had to pay fine

                      I forgot my password in IRCTC and mailed them thrice. But no response. Please send me passwrd. I am struggling because of that. IRCTC username: carolz

                      I had to travel on 29 May in Yeswanthpurt express. So I showed the print out of mail from IRCTC which has name, PNR no, berth details etc and my ID card . What else could be done in case I coudnt open my irctc page. All the other passengers asked me reason and all said it is against the rule. The passengers who occupies the nearby seats are witnessers.                         When I checked status today (30 April 2008 @ 10:10 AM) it shows me W/L 4 & 5

                        While when I check availability status today it shows original W/L 25 with current W/L 6, (

                        How can it be possible, If I have a Original W/L 8, and after that W/L 24 is reached with current W/L 6, I should get my ticket confirmed much earlier.

                        I am sure... they have cooked up the tickets, if you pay 100 RS extra in hyderabad to an agent he pays 50 within the railways and get a confirmed ticket even when it shows W/L on IRCTC site.

                        Pity the Railways... they are all going to hell for lazyness, neglect when they need to serve and irresponsibility.
                        Sir, My PNR status [protected] and transaction id [protected] is still now that position. Please consider the upgradation due to W/L.

                          cheating with users

                          Today on 27th april 2008, i was trying to book a ticket on irctc but i was getting status as not available but when i contacted an agent he told me that there are 35 seats available (tatkal quota), isn't it chetaing with normal users why railway is providing such privilages to theire agents just for some extra money and i think this is the success mantra behind railways profit....

                          I have booked a ticket on 19.04.2009 with transaction ID No.[protected] and an amount of Rs.1729/- has been debited from my HSBC credit card. But the transaction was failed and the ticket was not generated and subsequently I had to make it using amother credit card. Thia amount along with the charges amount to Rs.1760.00 has been incurred in my HSBC credit card statement and of course in the another credit card statement too. This amount for the failed tranasction has not yet been credited to my HSBC credit card account even after 10 days. Request to take necessary action immediately.

                            On 15-02-09 I tried a reservation for one ticket from Kakinada TO Sec'bad, but the transation shows failed after payment made by me thru SBI ATM-CUM-DEBIT CARD. But I was tried for second time, this time also the transation failed due to server problem after payment made by me...so on four times via transations Ref. ID [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected].Finally I hadn't get any reservation against payment.

                            But the same time Rs.1415/- (283*5 times) is debited in my SBI ATM-CUM -DEBIT CARD. But still the amount is not credited in my Bank.

                            Pl tell me what I do to get my amount back.

                              I had booked one IIIrd AC Train I-Tkt though IRCT site as per the details given below but till date I have not got the refund of the same.

                              No. of Person - 3 people were booked and all three were cancelled.

                              Reservation Upto - Chennai.

                              TDR No 384775 dt. 24-12-07 was made by Pune Station and was send to Chief Commercial Manager (Refund) Mumbai CST vide DTDC and the same was recd. in Mumbai on 2nd Jan. 08.

                              Today when I called office of Chief Commercial Manager Mumbai and spoke to Mr.Vasuva on[protected] on the status of my refund I was told that in there office no claim is pending and they have only March last 15 days claims pending. I was advised to check with IRCTC hence requesting you to pl. update me with the status of the same ASAP.
                              After speaking to Mr.Vasuva again he told me that the money has been tranfered to IRCTC on 28th March 2008 alongwith other claim and now I should check with IRCTC. IRCTC i[censored] send e-mail you won't get proper reply and there is no e-mail id or phone no. of higher ups if your claims are not being addressed.
                              I have been speaking to one Mr.Bansi in TDR Department but again no positive response over the phone nor e-mail.
                              People should avoid booking on the net.

                              IRCTC — No refund till date

                              Hi,
                              I had booked a ticket for travel on 26th Nov 2008. Out of 3 tickets 2 were wait listed and just 1 was confirmed during the chart preparation. I immediately ie before train departure mailed to irctc to cancel the confirmed ticket also.
                              Till date there is no sign of refund. also no one is bothered to check and confirm on the status. Pls coordinate and suggest.

After entering the details of the two passengers, I made the payment using SBI debit card. After making the payment I got the message that the session is expired.

                                  I checked my SBI bank transactions and I can see a payment of 515/- made in favour of BIL. However when I see the list under "Booked Tickets" on the website, I dont see any reservation made.

                                  Please advise what to be done since I have made a payment and there is no booking done by the website.

                                  on date 27-7-08 two amountof rs 839.60 deducted from my credit card of hdfc bnd through approvel code no. 705614 and 715596. but till date i not get my oncern ticket.

                                  i am requesting you pl. clear my account and deposit the amount of rs 1679.20 rs in my hdfc account no. [protected].

                                  not booking at a first time i look the time table and chart of rail
                                  As 0734 Special express train from Vizag to Vijayawada departs at 5.30 AM, gives an impression that train runs ahead of Janmabhoomi Express. Hence we boarded the Special Express. Unfortunately Till 10.15 AM we are at Rajahmundry. Janmabhommi overtaken us one hour before and would have crossed Bhimadole which departed 30 miniuts after this train. This kind treatment is totally not acceptable and unethical. My suggestion is When you are not able to run on time kindly cancel the train, or declare as passenger. Do not charge express fare. Thanks.,

                                  I faced a problem while booking a ticket now on irctc.co.in from GUWAHATI to HOWRAH JN on 14th Jan 2011 in Saraighat Exp. After entering the details of the one passenger, I made the payment using SBI debit card. After making the payment I got the message that the session is expired.

                                    .on the day of journey the train was cancelled due to land slide. i have requested the irctc to refund the money. they have told me (pankaj-customer care) to refund it within 90 days, but did not. now now they are not replying my mail nor receiving any complains rather avoiding the issue by telling contact this person and that person like this. i have spend so much in telephone that the refund will be less than that.
                                    so please take up the case urgently and help me.

                                    Dear Sir/Madam,

                                    I am a daily passenger in Sirsa Exp.(Train No.4085-86) since last 02 years.I have an MST of A/C chair car coach, my MST No. is[protected]Bhiwani to Shakur Basti) which is valid upto 17.11.2009.

                                    But the problem is that the A/C chair car coach is not available since 31st Oct.09 to till date in the train without any information.Due to traveling in second class coach i am facing a lot o[censored]nconviniance despite that i have advance paid to railway for A/C chair car MST.

                                    So it is requested to you to refund my difference money between A/C chair car MST & Simple MST as soon as possible.

                                    This is my first request to you.In second reminder i'll also send a copy of this request to consumer court.
