Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation [IRCTC] — got side upper seat for almost handicapped senior citizen | |||
Hi, i've booked 3 tickets for me, my wife having small kids & 70 years old my mother in law who is almost handicap & has acute knee problem and in medical surveillance as well from anvt till siwan. I'm very surprised to see, irctc allotted "side upper births" for all o[censored]s. Three side upper berths as you can guess we can't sit together; we have to be in different sections with our small kids. And how my 70 years old mother in law having acute knee problem and had knee surgery as well in the past will climb up to take her sear? Such a basic requirement, senior citizens have to be allocated lower berths. Not sure what kind of algorithm the booking software is using to allocated side upper seats for senior citizens. And i know from my past experience that if i go and book tatkal i will definitely get the lower berths. Ideally, the lower berth preference should be given to people who doing normal booking and not tatkal bookings. Even after so many years, the irctc has not learned this simple basic requirement.
