Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation [IRCTC] — policy of deactivating unused accounts instead of deleting | |||||
I tried to create another irctc account few years back, while registering we need to fill mobile number and emal id. After that we need to activate it. I did not activate that account for years, My problem is i am unable to use my mobile number (Which i used while registering the above account) with another irctc account that i am using presently. So i approached [protected]@irctc.co.in to delete above account so as i can use my mobile number with other account. Their response is they can only deactivate and mobile number and email id can't be used with any other irctc account. It is very unfair to lock the mobile numbers with unused accounts (By deactivating the accounts). Please see their response — Dear customer, We would like to inform you that it is not possible to delete user id. Your user id can be deactivate only from our side Kindly note that if you deactivate this account then you can not create another account on irctc with the same email-id and with same mobile number. In this case you have to create another account on irctc with alternate mobile number or email-id so please confirm us we proceed for deactivate your account or not? Note: please use email id registered in your irctc profile for communication with irctc customer care.
