[Resolved]  Indigo Airlines — disallow passengers to check in if they reached airport late by 10 mts

Sir/madam,

I was to fly from hyderabad to kochi on 6-april-2018 in an indigo flight scheduled to depart at 2:30 pm. I reached the check in counter at 1:50 and was disallowed to board. Reason given is late show.
I understand your motto of early departure and early arrival but do you really want to achieve all those targets after causing trauma to passengers.in my case i did not have any connection flight but there were other indigo passengers who were stranded at the airport in the same situation - flying to other destinations.
Alternate flights suggested by the staff were exorbitantly priced. I was able to book for the next indigo flight while the staff at the airport told me that the flight is fully booked. So, what’s happening here? Is this some gimmick to charge customers when in india there are late comers always for obvious reasons.

Its not that i am flying for the first time but a 5 or 10 mt delay to report at check in counter should not cause so much stress - both emotional and financial one to passengers. Nobody reaches the airport deliberately late at time’s unforeseen circumstances do occur, a slight flexibility would be really appreciated.

We understand you were unable to board flight 6E-304 from Hyderabad to Kochi which was scheduled to depart at 14:30 hrs on 6th April 2018. As per our policy, check-in counter closes 45 mins prior to the scheduled departure time. Our staff has no reason to deny boarding to passengers who report on-time. Also, we advise our passengers to reach the airport 2 hrs prior to the scheduled departure to avoid any last min hassle. Based our records, you reported at 13:54 hr which is 36 mins prior to the departure. Since, our check-in counter was already closed for the flight our staff was unable to accept you for the flight.
Further, you can claim a refund of no-show taxes and to initiate the same get in touch with the respective travel portal used to make the reservation. As always, we are happy to have provided assistance to you and would request your understanding in this regard.
