[Resolved] Indigo Airlines — not allowed to board at bhubaneswar airport on 15 jul 2018 | |||
Dear sir, I had a return flight no e-512, pnr j98yry-6e 557 from bhuvaneshwar to chennai on 15 jul 2018. We had traveled from puri to bhuvaneshwar and reached airport just 45 minutes prior to stating the above flight ie. 1245 h. The actual starting time of above flight is 1330 on 15 jul 2018. We were stopped and declined our baggage by the checking counter staff on the plea that all the checking have been closed and document sent. I showed the time it was just 42-43 minutes still left for flight to start. My wife is a diabetic patient and and on a hurry she fell down. All the lady staff witnessed this incident and they also inquired about her well being. We had requested to lady staff at the checking counter that we had only hand baggage's which could be carried in the flight but she was so adamant and did not agree to our genuine requests. There was actually enough time and we could have been easily accommodated in the flght without much hassles. I know the indigo flight starts at a different location that is far from boarding point. Nevertheless we had sufficient time to board the flight. I immoderately went to one mr salim by the time flight had started off. I could not meet him mr salim at the very moment since nobody told him there was one supervisor who could have helped us. He pleaded his inability and assured such things will not occur in future. I had to rush to a local hospital and administer medication to my wife. I had to book another flight and that cost rs 18000/- besides all kind of harassment by your lady staff at ticket counter as well as checkingcounters. Who would bear this loss? I am regular traveler through indigo and you can see my records. Being an ex-serviceman my self i am aware all the security issues the flight has to undergo. Verified Support Jul 27, 2018 IndiGo Customer Care's response Hi, We wish your wife a speedy recovery. We have investigated the matter internally and would like to summarize our findings. You were booked to travel in flight 6E 512 from Bhubaneswar to Chennai, which was scheduled to depart at 13:30 hours on 15th July 2018. As per policy, check-in counter closes 45 minutes prior to the departure and you reached at 12:55 hrs. Our staff has no reason to deny boarding to passengers who report on-time. However, it is pertinent to note that reporting on-time is the passenger's sole responsibility. Also, we advise our passengers to reach the airport 2 hrs prior to the scheduled departure to avoid any last min hassle. Based on our records, you reported after the check-in counter closure.
