Indigo Airlines — Terrible Airport Service

I am a student travelling from Mumbai to Chennai via T1. Someone else had booked this ticket for me and added student services without telling me, so I wasn't carrying my ID. At the check-in counter I was informed that I have the STUD service. I told them I don't have the physical ID. The lady asked me to provide a photo.

I didn't have one in my phone so I called my parent in the middle of work to get the ID picture for me. But as I was on call and trying to get the picture, the staff kept harassing me by constantly asking questions like "Do you not even have a single family or friend you can call for the picture?" All this while I'm literally calling everyone for a picture of my student ID. At this point, I weigh my luggage and it's not even 15kgs, much less the 25kgs that I'm supposed to carry as a part of the student service.

I get a picture of my ID from my parent, but proceed to move to a different counter because of the extremely rude lady at my previous counter. Here I presented the photo of my student ID along with boarding pass and Aadhar card, and this lady proceeds to ask me again why I don't have my physical ID. At this point, everyone in every counter has heard me tell the staff about how I don't have a student ID. Even after providing the picture, offering to show my student admission portal etc, they are not letting me go. Again, my suitcase is 10kgs and I don't need the stupid service.

So at this point I want to leave the check-in counter and I ask the staff if the student service can be cancelled. The manager (some rude guy) comes up to me and says "No, but we can cancel your ticket." Is this the support you aim to provide? Cancelling my ticket, really?

All this while, every single staff is talking to me in the most condescending manner because I didn't bring my physical student ID. I have used this student service in the right places close to 10 times with Indigo, and this is the first time I didn't have my physical ID because I didn't know I had a student ticket. Instead of helping me out with the issue at hand, the staff is passing all the rude comments in the world.

Their justification for this sheer rudeness is that student services come at a discounted price and they need to be thorough. Sorry, do you not know your own airline policies? Student services DO NOT COME AT A DISCOUNTED PRICE. The only service students get is increased check-in baggage allowance.

The ratings are right. This is the most terrible airline in India, and the only reason it has run so far is because they have a large frequency of flights at all times. Dogshit service. Stop with your harassment.
