A REQUEST FROM SENIOR CITIZEN FOR SPEEDY ACTION

ENCROACHMENT ON COMMON AREA BY ILLEGALLY COVERED THE MANDATORY OPEN SPACE BY GROUND and FIRST CO-OWNERS AT
E 275, EAST OF KAILASH, NEW DELHI
TAMPERING OF IGL COMMON GAS PIPELINE

With reference to the captioned subject, we advise we have sent upteen emails since May 23 but no response. Atlast we could get support from the helpline team. The IGL contacted us on 15.12.2023 and enquired about the representation on the issue of tampering of IGL pipeline by residence consumer. They said they will visit to E 275, EOK, and accordingly a meeting will be arranged with all the owners. The meeting was fixed for Saturday around noon. On 16th December representative from IGL visited E 275, EOK around 4.00 P M to take stock of grave situation. They were six member team and came to our house. We apprised of the actual issue confronting the violation of IGL rules and asked to take suitable action to avoid any disaster on account of original gas line been tampered to suit the illegally encroached and covered mandatory open shaft Duct space. After inspection of our floors, the entire team moved down to First floor and ground floor where the owners who are instrumental in changing the common gas pipeline multiple times where not responded to the door bell rang by IGL inspection team to carry out their inspection. Thus they could not inspect the site from inside.

What intrigued us is who opened both the locked doors ie Street gate and Main door for the IGL representative to enter the house; as our door opener device is out of order.

Further we have shown the stilt and back side area service laneto the IGL representatives for inspection. Before leaving to inspect from the Study School side, the following issues were raised:

How a consumer can alter the common gas pipeline on their own multiple times when these are the property of IGL.

What are the guidelines for the violation of safety measures by individually carried out inappropriate action.

How and when IGL has ensured the safety aspects of these pipeline changes.

They evaded the direct answer except to acknowledge that they have not carried out these alterations.

When we asked how you will access your gas pipeline in any situation including emergency situation where the open space has been completely sealed, they said that the illegally covered area needs to be persued with MCD for action. Once it is cleared the open area becomes easily accessible.

Further the proposed meeting of owners with IGL representative could not materialize as envisaged by them nor they could complete the inspection of Ground and First floor. As such they promised us to visit again for inspection.

Then they left to The Study School and carried out their inspection.They also took photographs for their records.

Guidelines
The gas line is the sole property of Indraprastha Gas Limited IGL and no individual or consumer can tinker or alter on their own. Further the Concealment of Service pipe in full or part thereof shall not be camouflaged in the customer premises and shall always be exposed or open to atmosphere.

    We requested on 9 of Nov for the connection the customer care said it will take 3 days. Today 3 days have been passed they haven’t come for the connection. We haven’t made food for past 3 days and Now are saying it will take 3 more days, plz solve the problem quickly

      Even after one month if follow-ups installation is not yet done in my flat. Pleaee expedite.

        We have closed our restaurant in September and requested Termination of Gas Connection #[protected]. It’s been close to two months but no action is yet taken. I am following up with different gl teams of ghaziabad like sunny gautam from marketing, Mohammed Salim, Kuldeep and ankit from operations. Everyone is passing the ball to each other. Now I have left no other option other than going to consumer forum.

            In this connection I have contacted igl control room regarding my problem who forwarded to talk with naveen who advise to to contact sanjay then mr vivek i have talk to all the representative every one said that we will see i have paid rs 3000/- to plumber for reconnection no one paid amount. a month and half already passed no responcerecived from any one.
            kindly advise to concerned contractor to pay otherwise i will have to knock the door of consumer forum.

              My consumer number [protected], my bill was showing 2612 due amount against which I did on line transaction and amount was showing 1314.4 ( reference number[protected] which was paid by me via Amazon Pay by me in the morning 5.53 am and later on when I tried again same amount was showing and I thought in order to compensate the total amount same is still showing and I made another transaction of 1314.4 ( reference number[protected] via Amazon Pay at 6.27 am (image attaached)

              No body from IGL bother to resolve... I crossed check the details with bank as well

                  IGL/PNG BP. No.[protected] stands in the name of my wife Amita Bhatt requested for permanent disconnection (from old premises A1/643 Sector 6 Rohini Delhi)on 23 Aug 23 vide Service request No. [protected] followed by another Service request vide No. [protected] and too many emails and personal contact to customer care but sorry' to say that first service request closed without any action and falsely informed through email. My meter is installed outside and security hazard is also there as we have shifted to new premise and timely informed to your office. I request, being Sr. Citizen to please disconnect connection permanently and security amount be refunded and credited in to my account which is mentioned in cheque deposited at the time of taking connection.

                    I am a senior citizen and was living alone in my residence before Covid however I shifted with my Son to his residence due to lockdown and infrequently visiting my residence for last 3 years with very low usage of IGL gas connection. I have raised multiple request with IGL to temporary disconnect the connection to avoid Billing but they have ignored more than 10 such requests in last 3 years and raising Bills on minimum usage which is higher than any Bill paid till date for last 20 years! They have been sending threatning messages for permanent disconnection and keep sending inflated monthly bIlls by completing ignoring meter readings. I have written multiple Emails in this regards to the only customer care Email ID and thru their Portal which end up with same support staff raising Bills and sending threats. It seems their is no escalation process followed and there is no one accountable for open harassments caused to customers. Appreciate if somehow this harassment can stop and Bill can be corrected for BP No.- [protected]

                      I had applied for a new IGL connection at Vasant Kunj Delhi via BP number [protected] however even after two months and multiple follow ups there is no clue about when the connection will be installed.
                      IGL customer care tells the same story every time that we have escalated your case and you will get response soon but there is no feedback whatsoever. This is the situation when there is IGL connection from previous owners already coming outside my kitchen window.

                      The attitude and service of IGL is the worst among any utility service providers in India.

                      Please help resolve this.

                          My BP number is [protected]
                          Its is sec 2 dwarka. I have been requesting for the reconnection, which was disconnected for renovation purposes. Its been more than 22 days but the request is falling on deaf ears. Whenever i contact the helpline, they say we are sorry and we will send the person on priority basis and the issue will be resolved in 1-2 days but there is no call and no visit. The person who is in IGL office in dwarka, ( i got the number from the person who had come for disconnecting while renovation was going on) everyday says i will send the person tomorrow and on tomorrow there is unavailability of the team and that ‘tomorrow’ never comes. Its been so frustrating that i cannot shift to my renovated apartment just because of the lack of services from IGL. I feel like literally abusing but i am keeping the restraint, as i dont want to stoop to that level.
                          If there is someone who is reading this complain and can help me out, please do.

                            We got the connection done in the month of October. For the first few months, we received the bill ranging from[protected]. In the month of Feb, we received a bill of Rs. 19000 (which is way too high in comparison to our consumption). We filed multiple complaints, someone came to check and told us that was a leakage and fixed it. From that month, we started receiving bills in normal amounts (ranging from[protected] again but the Rs. 19000 wasn’t settled even though the company knew there was a leakage. I called them multiple times and asked them to send the revised bill but they refused to do so and told us that the leakage didn’t cause the leakage (which was not true). It’s been 6 months and our bill is now 26000. We’ve gotten the connection disconnected. IGL has now sent us a legal notice demanding us to pay the bill but since our bill was way higher than our consumption, we are not ready to pay the bill. We are good, middle class people who pay all bills on time and this has never happened to us before. We are ready to pay[protected]as per our consumption) but cannot pay the whole amount. It is very unfair to us. I request you tò urgently help us resolve this matter.

                              I have applied for IGL connection in 2019, meter installation was completed in 2019 but the connection is not energized yet.
                              i had complaint many times (more than 5times in last 1 month) in IGL but no one is listening the issue. each complaint is getting closed without resolution.

                                  Greetings of the day!

                                  Please find this email as the concern raised regarding gas pipeline issue. It has been 2-3 months already that I have paid Rs 7000 for the gas pipeline connection. However, no action has been taken so far. In the same area other houses already has the connection successfully planted.

                                  I am facing so much inconvenience due to the lack of responsibility in your department. I am afraid to say that if this issue is not resolved soon, I would be forced to approach National Consumer Court for further steps

                                    Hi,

                                    I had a PNG connection (BP:[protected] Meter:[protected] at my flat in New Delhi. We have filled the form with the our correct information and document was submitted accordingly. IGL meter was installed with no usage or no connection. while i raised the request, IGL team has confirmed that address and details will be updated once the first bill will be generated but still Address and Name is not correct (Showing wrong person).

                                    I have raised the request by App and discussed with the customer care and written mail to update Address and Name. Every member of IGL team was misleading and asking for different processes, IGL team is asking now to raise the request for Ownership change. while connection was not started. it was started by me with new application. I don't understand if IGL team has by mistake installed wrong meter in my flat then why they are asking me to raise for Ownership change.

                                    Please look into the matter and help me on the resolution.

                                      This complaint is regarding the payment charged on the BP No. [protected] which is Rs. 25, 963. The amount is on a lot higher side but our usage is next to negligible. Till date no meter reading has been done and vice versa no photo has been demanded from us in order to verify the same. The meter is in the name of Mrs. Vinod Bala Sethi. Kindly do the needful and let us know on what basis bill is being generated. Please make sure the concerned person visit our facility as there are four floors on the same address and all the bills don't relate to the usage. Kindly provide us with the detailed hard copy too.

                                        So, I am continuously receiving an estimated invoice for my meter no: ZEN00011185/0818 and BUSINESS PARTNER NO. [protected] because the current meter reading is less than the last bill with actual meter reading (which was wrong reading btw).

                                        For which I am not paying any bill and constantly trying to explain to the executives calling and asking me to pay that why this bill is not valid and how I have already paid extra amount than the current meter reading.

                                        So, it all started in May 2022, where I received a bill with very wrong meter reading (closing reading: 736) while the actual meter reading was very very low, when I found out, I complained and the executive somehow convinced me to pay for this because it will get offset later on and I paid that extensive high amount (Biggest mistake)

                                        After this every month, an executive comes to take the meter reading of all the meters in the building but since the reading for this meter is lower than the last closing reading of the last paid bill, the bill does not gets generated from the taken meter reading but rather after some days, an estimated bill gets generated with random amount.

                                        This has now continued for a year and I was not paying any bill and whenever an executive calls me, I explain them what happened and instead of taking it forward they just stops calling me.

                                        Now, they have sent me a legal notice to pay all the illogical estimated bills that they have generated along with the interest.

                                        and the last bill I paid was till reading 736.

                                        They even came and disconnected the gas pipeline and didn't care to check the reading on the meter and the reading on the last paid bill.

                                        Not only I want these illogical bills to be voided but I want the refund of the extra amount that I have already paid to IGL last year.
