[Resolved]  Infibeam And DTDC — Shipment not delivered past due date

I ordered a book set on 30th July 2014 as a birthday(8th Aug) present for my niece through Infibeam order no: 13399712 with sub order no: 22586029. I received a message on 31st July that my order has been shipped and will be delivered within 1-2 days. I waited for few days. When it did not arrive till 4th Aug, I complained with them but they assured me that it will be delivered within 2 days. I again called them on 6th and they again assured me that they have forwarded my complaint and gave me the number of the courier company. I checked with the courier company DTDC and they said that my shipment is in my city since 2nd Aug and will definitely be delivered the next day ie 7th Aug. 7th has come and gone but no package has arrived. I don't know why delivering a package within the city is taking 5 days or more. This has caused lot of mental agony and embarrassment to me as the birthday has arrived and I am the one with no gift for my niece. I do not know if the problem lies with DTDC or infibeam but I am holding Infibeam responsible and they should be more vigilant with their partner courier companies and check back if a shipment is delayed and not the other way around where a customer has to chase everyone to get things done. I would like to warn everyone not to order anything through Infibeam as this is the second time this has happened to me. This is certainly the last time I have made this mistake. Other rival sites are 100 times better in terms of their service and delivery commitments.
