[Resolved]  Oriental Insurance Company Ltd. — delay in claim settlement and putting unwarranted conditions

I am a senior citizen and my car met with a serious accident about 5 months back and towed to dealer. Surveyor Mr M M puri of Delhi was deputed for survey and he advised that vehicle is total loss and shift the vehicle from repairer to safer place to avoid garage charges. I again towed the vehicle to my residence. But even after 2 months surveyor did not take any decision except some buyer inspected the car. Then surveyor advised to shift the car back to dealer as it shall be repaired. Surveyor said that the company policy has changed that it can not be a cash loss settlement, so it should be repaired. I objected that vehicle is not repairable. Surveyor Mr Puri then wanted me settle the total loss for less than insured value. On my saying that I should be given my right for a total loss as the vehicle is not repairable and I should be paid for full value. I am then agreed for a total loss, but insurance company officer's are putting new conditions to deliver the vehicle at Delhi some go down which is more than 40 Kms away from my place and also transfer the vehicle in their name. My submission is that insurance company pays even for towing to garage, then why should I bear these additional cost of towing from one place to other and my vehicle was insured by Faridabad Branch and then why deposit in Delhi. I have written to even Grievances cell of OIC and talked to DGM, Dr. Kaushik, Mr Khan Manager Grievances Cell, and Mr Katyal of Claim Hub. But all are now avoiding the phone calls. Surprising even My grievance complaint is recorded as resolved by the senior officer ranking RM Ms Meenakhshi without actually resolving. I am senior citizen and feeling very harrassed that is this the insurance service. Is it a way to extract money from insured and is it right for company to deal. What is the relief available to me. I have so far spent more than 8000.00 only for towing of vehicle or visiting the insurance office to Delhi. A K Sharma- Faridabad

I CLAIMED AN INSURANCE BY POLICY NO.242300/31/2010/3603 OF MY VEHICLE NO.RJ34 TA 0186 IN DECEMBER 2010 AND FINAL BILL WAS SUBMITTED IN JAN.11 BUT I DID NOT RECEIVED MY CLAIM AMOUNT YET.
SO PLEASE SIR CHECK IT.
