my son Prem Alex Lawrence borrowed an education loan of Rs.8.1lakhs(eight lakhs and ten thousand)fromSTATE BANK OF TRAVANCORE, Alanji, , Kannyakumari district.(270000 0n12-01-08, 270000 on 01-7 08, 270000 on[protected] the interest rate being 16.25%p.a. my son repaid an amount of Rs.8, 31469(eight lakhs, thirty one thousand four hundred and sixty nine rupees) In the Finance Ministers interim budget speach of 2014, he announced that an interest subsidy would be given to the students who borrowed before 2009, from banks . But when we approached the bank, they said that my son is not eligible for that.the interest rate is 16.25%p.a. A student has to pay this much interest for his study loan from the bank.Now the remaining amount, he has to pay is Rs.7, 18789(seven lakhs, eigteen thousand and seven hunred andeightynine) Three times, we have written to the Finance Ministery, but no step was taken till now.Please help us.
