This is to bring into your kind notice that my family was schedule to travel from Bangalore to Hyderabad on 18/7/2014 by Garib Rath (details enclosed above). She had tickets for 3rd A.C. with status Confirmed. In a rush to board the train, my wife did not notice whether she was carrying the original or duplicate id card. After realizing during the ticket check she explained and apologized with the TTE for the same. He did not have any name tag on his jacket, hence she could recollect his name. He demanded a bribe of Rs 500 per ticket for the same. My wife refused to pay the bribe and after furious exchange of words between the TTE and my wife, she agreed to pay the penalty for not carrying the original id card but will not pay the bribe. Out of fury the TTE demanded 3300/- per ticket which was unacceptable by my wife. As we read the instruction on the ticket, in case the passenger fails to produce the original id card the TTE shall penalise with an additional amount of RS 50 per ticket from the
passenger. Without having any courtesy that he was dealing with a women passenger with 2 small kids he simply started abusing her and asked her to get off the moving train immediately (very slowly though). Somehow she managed to get off the train. She approached the station master office but couldn’t find anyone on the seat and hence returned home since it was getting too late.
I urge the addressee to kindly look into this serious matter and a strict disciplinary action should be taken to the responsible T.T.E., those who harass and create nuisance for the passenger.
I shall await a response from the authority. Failing which I shall approach the consumer redressal court for justice. Was this information helpful? |
And the customer care has asked me to go and meet the station master for this complaint. I do not understand why can't there be an online support. For hearing I can be called for clarification. Going to the station master may or may not yield any result.
I am raising an alarm about a corrupted TTE. Request you to please treat this seriously.
